I'm fixing to finish my public speaking course in college IMO my #1 issue is the anxiety of OMG! everyone IS STARING AT YOU! OMG OMG OMG!! !! !! My professor says as you get older you don't care what people think of you. She is probably right but I'm only going on 26 so I still have that feeling. I bombed my last speech! F. Still she goes by a point scale and going off of that not counting Wed. last speech (Personal Eulogy that's going to rock!) and extra Credit I still have a C. (barely!! !!) So I was wondering if others on the spectrum didn't like getting on stage in front of people either.

I know right No way, I can't do it, even with two people talking about my favorite subject, if that would be a presentation.

I just don't seem to have that "natural" fear and anxiety of performing in front of an audience that other people seem to have. For years I have ADORED getting in front of people and entertaining them or giving a speech. I hardly even notice they are there! My mother thinks it may be because I don't have to directly interact with the audience the way I have to when in a social group. And even if you make a mistake most people where I live are too...polite...to boo or say anything.

Getting in front of people when performing something was me at my normalest when I was a child. People said that I was a natural performer. They were very confused about the child who performs so easily onstage vs. the child who doesn't respond when called by name offstage.

I've actually got more stage fright as time went on. Weird.

No, and it's gotten worse as I've gotten older. I shake uncontrollably and can't speak.

I hate it, I've always been frightened of it. I start shaking uncontrollably, and get that awful feeling in my stomach when I have to talk in front of people.

Ug, I'm taking speech during the upcoming winter intersession. I'm dreading it.

Oh hell no. I was that guy in music/gym class. They combined the two one year and made us dance. I was not having that s**t at all. I f*****g hated dancing and conforming to similar 'ish as a wee one.

Getting up in front of a crowd never worries me since I always take off my glasses if I have to give a speech. Then my vision gets so blurry I can't see anyone's face. There, problem solved.

If I am prepared and I know no one's going to interrupt me with questions I do okay. Funny thing is I am used to speaking to large audience and can't speak to a room full of say 20 to 25 audience. I get very nervous infront of small audience. If I am not being graded for speaking I am okay prolly. If I am going to be graded on that I have selective mutism so nothing comes out of me

Nope, I still hate it.

I still don't like getting on stage.
Or being the center of attention in any way.
I prefer to live life in stealth mode.
