Are you happy to have organisations such as the National Autistic Society and Autism Speaks speak on your behalf?

I'm autistic and I think its good that some organisations speak on behalf of autistic people (including those with Asperger's), yet find that most of the organisations that do so do harm with the perception of autism they give out. It is not a bad thing to have NTs interacting with our community and helping bridge the gap between the two communities with the help of autistic people who want to participate in this manner.

Organisations that do this sort of thing aren't innately good or bad, it is determined by how much correct information vs false information they share, as well as how much they work with the individuals who are autistic to help them.

Nobody speaks for me but me. I don't care one way or the other what any organizations are saying.
