hmm, I guess it depends on the people who would be receiving the food? In general, people have known I am weird, but I would always bake for finals week in college for some of my art classes, and no one ever made a scene about cookies from the weird girl. I guess it helps that I was in art so there was less judgement, and college kids are always hungry (but even the teachers were excited about cookies and brownies, ha)
I am super germ-o-phobic and food that other people have cooked kind of weirds me out sometimes unless I know them and know their kitchen is clean. I would never cook a food gift for people I consider snotty about food, but in general my friends who would be the recipients of such a gift are pretty down to earth and their response is positive. If they throw it away after I leave, so be it. They would be missing out on some delicious stuff!
