I have trouble with certain places and wondering if others have this issue.

Warehouse stores, open plans with fluorescent lights, overhead music and lots of noise.
Enclosed kitchens.
Bathrooms with no windows.
escalators
elevators
sliding glass doors.

I have a fear of walking over overpasses and Bridges. And sometimes elevated subway stations.

There's this overpass in Queens NY that whenever a heavy vehicle like a truck drives over it the overpass starts to bounce..

When I walked over the Brooklyn Bridge I didn't like it at all, esp the part where its wood and you can see though all the way to the bottom, a bit scary.

However, when I went on the ESB observation deck, the height bothered me at first but after a while I got use to it and I enjoyed my time there. :)

I used to have a fear of elevators when I was young, but now I like them! There sort of like a special interest to me now.

As for the other things, doesn't really bother me, except for the loud music issue.

I used to hate every kind of elevator, but now I just hate the ones with the glass doors like they have in shopping malls...
I actually can't stand bathrooms with windows because of a peeping tom my sister saw once. It creeps me out when I use the bathroom at someone's house and they have a low window or sheer curtains or something.
Ugh, escalators! I still get nervous when I have to step off one, I always think I'm going to catch something and get stuck there.
I'm very afraid of heights. If I'm in a place where it's possible for me to fall at all, I get crazy vertigo and have to flatten myself to the ground like a cat.

Now I'm better off than when I was as kid or teen. I used to be afraid of heights very much, I was totally freaked out of sitting on the ferris-wheel, for example (I remember my father getting angry at me because of it). When I went up a few floors higher in the building where we lived I became nervous just to be there and see the landscape from a different angle and hear the rattling of the machinery of the elevator and the buzzing of some transformers. And yes, I don't like elevators even now. I'm afraid of falling down in the pit or getting stuck. I can manage, though. :)

I don't mind stores, I only dislike the "music" they pollute the air with, and sometimes the crowd annoys me.

Now I have a slight phobia of swimming pools, I can only swim in the middle line of the pool, otherwise I would get short panic-attacks of some of the machinery. Quite insane, I know.

Abandoned or ''haunted'' buildings seem to disturb me, although they fascinate me too.

I don't remember being afraid of any places, but there are some places that make me feel really uncomfortable, so I avoid going there or try to stay there as short as possible.

Crowded places are the worst for me, be it a crowded store, a crowded public gathering, a crowded social situation or whatever. I also find it very uncomfortable to be alone near a group of strangers, especially if they are loud. I just find that somehow intimidating, maybe due to bad experiences in the past.

While I am not actually afraid of places, there are many I routinely avoid: (1) anything large and/or complex and crowded, such as malls, big box stores, busy streets, stadiums, hospitals, fast food restaurants, movie theatres; (2) anyplace unusually high, low, wet, dry, cold, hot, noisy--but very quiet is fine; (3) anyplace where I am highly visible and in danger of being (shudder!) judged. As you can guess, I spend a lot of time at home...and I'm not too fond of that either .
