Some promises I make, I do follow through with, until the time when following through becomes irrelevant. That thread I posted a while ago, I replied to quite a few people... and said I would return to finish it off. But ... I changed my mind. Not only did I say too much anyway, but I think everyone gets the point. Enough rambling. Off to the topic of THIS thread.
Have you ever considered writing a poem that reflects Asperger's Syndrome as a whole? I mean the positives, the negatives, the nuetral things. I have. And this is what I came up with: (inspired by Taoist philosophy)
--------------------------------------
The social world was cold,
so I put on a large coat.
The journey through all the snow,
was difficult... and I froze many times.
But on that horizon I did see a sun.
The sun that brought eventual warmth...
but the journey had to be made to reach it.
Here I am on top of the mountain.
And I discovered that no one was ever meant,
to reach that warm place.
Not by foot. But by spirit.
So I decided to lay down... in that pile of snow by the large rock.
I shivered...
Freezing, I shall slowly grow numb.
Slowly, I shall become colder ... and colder ...
Until I shall move no more.
