Wishing to discuss different walks of life. Discuss Asperger's a bit. Make some new friends! Meeting some new people.

I'll start off by introducing myself. My name is Adam. I am soon to be 21 within a weeks time! I was diagnosed with Asperger's a long time ago back in the days of Adolesence... 13 actually! My minds been boggling with all sorts of questions do I have it? Im pretty sure I do is all i can say to myself.... Its been a long time since then and a lot has changed!

I don't want to put too much into this message even though I am quite the talker....! Anyone feel free to make a post.I really hope to hear from you all soon. And a different point of view can always expand the horizons! So feel free to post!

Im on pretty regularly so ill check in often for responses.

Welcome, Uncertainty. :)
Gonna turn 21 myself this year, only much later. :P I was diagnosed with autism at around 2 or 3 years old. Because of this, I can't remember all the details, but I can only assume it was high functioning - however, I don't like to make any clear cut distinction as everyone is different enough regardless. Far too many variables to decide something like that.

Most of my life I didn't think much of it. Had to go through physical and speech therapy for a few years, but never thought of myself as abnormal. Otherwise I'd been fine and made friends up until the decision to homeschool at around 9-10 I believe. There was one other kid who had autism, but that wasn't much to compare myself to as he was the only other person I'd known who had it.

It's only been recently that I've had much interest. Don't even know how other than watching a bunch of random videos on youtube, from blogs to lectures from Temple Grandin, etc. In any case, it has helped me to understand a bit more, as well as to see what all I have in common with others(and even then, not everyone is the same, of course).

So while I've never considered it a problem, perhaps outside of what some perceived autism as, I feel better now that I've come to a better understanding of what it is. Hope you can find the same.
