Weird Dream from Long Ago
Today, I heard the term "blue baby" used to describe a baby that did not get enough oxygen during late pregnancy or birth, for the first time. I was a blue baby, so I have NVLD. I was originally going to be a leftie, but about 30 minutes of hypoxia changed that, so I have a right temporal lobe problem known as NVLD.
I then remembered a dream I had in second grade, one that was so vivid that I never forgot it. I told my grandmother at the time, so I know for sure I did dream this then.
I dreamed that there was a voice saying over and over again "Blue Baby! Here's Blue Baby!" and the occasional "We see you, Blue Baby!" Then this ferret-like thing bit my shoulder, saying to me "Got you now, Blue Baby!" Before the ferret-like thing got me, I was being driven around in a friend's mom's SUV, until they dropped me home. The friend was the one that told me that I was basically screwed because the ferret things had seen me, but dropped me home after a bit anyway. (Wow this sounds really crazy when I type it out).
The ferret bit my left shoulder, and people with NVLD tend to have left-side problems. In fact, if it weren't for the hypoxia that struck my right hemisphere of my brain, I would've written with my once-dominant left hand. Instead, I mostly write with my right hand, but use the left sometimes. Again, weird symbolism there.
I was never diagnosed then, but it was around then that, like most people with NVLD, my condition began to affect my school work.
I have had a handful of dreams that were so weird/vivid/disturbing that I remember them, even from early childhood.
The first one was I was some kind of mechanic/scientist working on something, someone shouts a warning and there is an explosion. This is actually the VERY first dream I have re-call of..
Another one, much more disturbing is this: I am standing in a room & a hole suddenly opens up and I fall in..
to land in some other place, where the same thing happens again.
And again. 5-8 times before I wake up.
Sincerely,
Matthew

I had a dream like the hole one once. Only, they were mud-holes in the floor. Things kept sinking into them, and I cowered onto my bed, trying to avoid them. Finally, I had to venture out of my bed for sustenance. Then, a voice said, "I've given you many chances" and then I slipped into the vortex of a hole. Another time, there was a hole at the end of a slide, which then led to other holes, and other holes, until I woke up.
I just think that dream had a lot of relevant symbolism, but I have no idea why. At the time, I thought the evil ferret things were Blue Baby, like a group of some sort. Now I realize they were calling ME "Blue Baby".

What do you mean by "people with NVLD have left-side problems?"
I've been trying to figure out why I have weakness in my left arm now for over 6 years. My mom said I was always this way and that I'm just now becoming aware of it. Is this common with NVLD? I've read that NVLD is very similar to Aspergers but I never read about problems on the left side?
most of my dreams have been of the very weird variety.
In fact, many dreams I found to be so scary, if I could remember them after waking up I could easily sell them to Hollywood, and they'd likely rival anything that the movie machines are currently churning out right now...or even back in the '70s and '80s.
