Can you clarify the differences for me, please? You know the difference from an addiction and an obsession. I notice I tend to do things as part of a routine and when I don't do them, I feel out of sorts. But, when I do them too much they interfere with trying to live a normal life. Thanks.

Obsessiveness or an obsession can apply to anything, but you could characterize them as general addictions, because of the need to engage in this. An addiction would be a repetition of behavior by rewards. You do stuff and are rewarded or reap a consequence if you do not. You could say you are addicted to routine, but you didn't obsess about starting the routine.

The difference is choice?
