i was wondering something, i have a pretty high pulse rate. i average in the 100+ range of pulse rate.

my dad does as well, but he has high blood pressure i don't mine has always been low. my mom has a low pulse rate and low blood pressure.

i'm kinda the anomaly i have a fast heartbeat and low blood pressure.

my highest pulse rate was 127 at wallmart, they have those machines to test your pulse and blood pressure, i always use them to see if i have beaten my highest score so far 127 is the highest.

i get the same results at a doctor's office, high pulse low pressure. and i get these readings at rest. while exercising i can get my pulse much higher.

i have gone through physicals, stress tests and all that, they told me i was fine.

but i was wondering if a high pulse is and aspie thing or not? or more like high pulse\low pressure. or is it genetic.

It's related to stress, anxiety and high blood pressure, but not Autism itself. My pulse is fine, I get it checked every 6 months because I'm on the contraceptive pill.

Must we blame everything on having AS and keep saying ''is it an aspie thing''?

i'm not blaming anything i've always been curious, i only went through tests to make sure i was fine, i am.

i just am confused at how i can have a fast heartbeat and low blood pressure, to me it doesn't make sense. unless i have thin blood or really tough veins, and i'm the only one in my central family with it and also the only aspie, figured it was an aspie thing. guess not.

even the doctors i go to find it a bit odd. and yeah i have enough anxiety to share [if i could] but if i have a high pulse shouldn't my blood pressure be high as well, that's what bugs me.

It seems to be very normal combination, I don't think having a low blood pressure & high pulse rate is any sort of contradiction, maybe your heart is working even harder to pump blood around your body because your blood pressure is so low. One conclusion is you have a level of anxiety that you're not even aware of which for me does the exact same thing makes my pulse rate really high most of the time, I'm also pretty damn unfit & sit at the computer a lot so that doesn't help at all with lowering my heart rate, generally the more physical activity you partake in the lower your pulse rate will be, so it could very well be a combination of things, do you do much physical activity?

normal, not according to the doctors around here. but i was kinda confused, but yeah that makes sense, i don't do much i'm the same i play on my computer mainly. but yeah i have a ton of anxity so that is probably it. i am still learning about aspergers i mostly figure things out from a first person perspective. i never research but try to figure things out for myself. but one thing i've always had a bit of pain or pressure in my chest at all times. that's what i went through the tests to find out why i have that pain [i'm not sure if it is pain hard to determine] it may be that i'm lazy.

but yeah my mom is more active and her pulse is really low well lower then mine. 90s is her normal area.

i was really active is a child and i also had less problems, besides getting sick because we had no idea i was allergic to wheat, and about 50 other foods.

it's harder to stand being outside because i have a ton of airborn allergies, including grass. in the desert grass is less common but in pa it's everywhere. i've gone through 4 allergy pills, i took them a long time and eventually the pill no longer helped. alavert is the current one. so i hate being outside, and thus i don't do much. but anyway thanks for the clarification.

I seem to have the almost the opposite occur. My resting heart rate never exceeds 70 BPM and my blood pressure is always a little bit low. Pulse depends on stress levels, gender, weight, amount of exercise, etc. Having a heart rate of 100+ BPM could easily be related to one of these factors. I think it is fine as long as you aren't having any difficulties breathing.

yeah other then a fast heartbeat i'm doing good, i just always wondered about it. but i know i'm not sick or anything. it just struck me as odd seeing how everyone else's is different then mine i thought it had something to do with my illness because that's the only thing that sets me apart from my family.

but now that i think about it your right it's probably related to my lifestyle, course probably alot of things relate to my lifestyle.

i keep forgetting how much has changed over the years in my life.

The people that ask these questions do not read the 65 million posts that ask something similar.

Try to keep that in mind. I know it seems annoying to you but people want others to relate.

I have a fast pulse because of stimulant medication. It may have been pretty fast to begin with but those blood pressure tests never showed it.

i would have searched but i wasn't sure if it was related but i have alot of tendencies that seem to go with my illness i probably could have asked in another topic, but i wanted to know for sure if the two were linked. and i wasn't really placing blame more then asking" could aspergers have this effect" i had doubts that it was asked before because the doctors down here seem to be confused every time they check my pulse and blood pressure. my mom or i always tell them it's normal for me.

so i didn't see it as a common thing.

so you check your heartrate on those machines as well, weird that they don't work for you, they do for me. i check them mostly out of curiosity.
i know i'm healthy but i think i made it into a game of sorts, which is why i keep track of the number.

My pulse has always been fast too and my blood pressure is at the low end of normal. But, I'm fit and active - I'm the least out of breath at my Zumba class and moving more than anyone, except the teacher, so I must be OK.

I got 144 at rest at an altitude of 3500 meters, which is roughly 10000 ft.

I have always had a high pulse rate and low blood pressure. I'm perfectly fine medically.

My baseline is 110 HR and 95/60 BP. That's completely normal for me. It's been that way since I was a teenager and I'm 47 now.

My rsting pulse is around a hundred, whether in or out of shapw, but my blood pressure is 120/80. When I get in shape my pulse still gets very high, but I'm not short of breath as fast. My pulse is ridiculous. I've scared boyfriends when they held me because my heart was pounding so fast even when I was completely relaxed. My doc says it's high, but not dangerously so. They keep checking though since I'm on central stimulants.

Mine is around 95 at rest, and goes no higher than 130 at full blast exertion. I have heart problems, but the doctors told me that the high pulse isn't part of that, and they don't know why it's high, and it's not due to any verifiable cause.

yeah mine is fast too and i'm not on any pills for my heart at all. but i've never had heart problems and the doctors find it odd but are not concerned.
