Life really is like the new song by Tim McGraw: "Live Like You Were Dying". A young girl who was about to go into my school (I was friends with her sister) was hit by a van while crossing the street a few days ago. She was going to a store that carries school supplies and was probably getting stuff for school. She never got to go there though. She died a week after being hit by the van and she was only 13. Just a reminder to all of those people who feel unlucky or like like they are worthless (etc.): think of what can happen. It can happen to anybody at any given time. Live your life out to the fullest. It does sound cheesy, but it is true. Thanks for reading, just had to get that out of my system.

I'm going to take your advice. When I think about the young ages that some people seem to die, I'll thank the Lord that I'm still alive. I know now that I have so much to live for. I felt like the Family Freak for years. Now I feel lucky to be alive. :P

Yes, it is very true. We often feel immortal, but in reality life is like a flame in the wind. A stronger gust is all it takes to extinguish it. Being obsessed about the future, so uncertain, we forget that now is our time. Carpe diem!

This reminds me of Stephen King's Shawshank Redemption: "Get busy living, or get busy dying."

Human beings are subject in preventable and unpreventable endings of there existence, Taking what measures that can be done to lessen the risks and going from there. And within the limits of first do no harm and live and allow to live the idea of enlighted self-interest.

This case covers the preventable but for whatever caused the driver to not watch more careful hopeful other drivers will be more careful in the future. and yes i find it sad this happned :-(

The philosophy I take is to live each day as if it were your last day. I thank God for every single day I'm alive.

I've heard that song too, but could never understand the lyrics as I would get confused as to who's point of view he was singing about.

Anyways over the years I've known three people that have died unexepectedly.....

September 17, 1997 - This one girl I knew from junior high school was with some friends driving back home and were near denmark, about 10 miles southeast of green bay when the car they were in rolled over. She was thrown from the vehicle and it rolled over her. The driver was drunk at the time.

August 27, 2000 - A child hood friend of mine, who was the son of one of my dads friends commited suicide in the basement of his home.

October 30, 2002 - Another drunk driving accident to tell about. A person who I worked with was out with his girlfriend at a bar in clarks mills, on the way back home, he passed out and his jeep went into the ditch and hit one of those embankments that farmers use to get their equipment in and out of fields. The jeep went airborn and the girlfreind was thrown from the jeep. She died when the jeep landed on her. My co-worker stayed in the vehicle and was all messed up. He now serving 5 years in prision for manslaughter.

June 13, 2003 - Another coworker I knew who had just graduated from high school died unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm.

That's four people...

Anyway all I can say is that death will come for us all sooner or later, so its better to get used to the idea. Its not like there's anything you can do about it anyway.

Don't fear the reaper!

No, actually that is three. The third one I didn't know, but was killed by someone I knew.

I've tried to live my life to the fullest, but I never could succeed because of my disabilities. Nobody will be my friend or date me because of ASD. My anxiety always gets in the way of anything that requires me to take risks.

Whenever I hear stories like these, I can't help but think why does this never happen to me? I'm never going to succeed at anything. I'm never going to be loved by anyone. So why do I have to continue to suffer? Why can't a car run me over and put me out of my misery? I'm going to die eventually regardless, and my life will never have any value anyway. So why can't I just get it done and over with already?!

Its that kinda can-do, go-getter spirit that really makes friends and influences people.

My whole life I've been abused physically and emotionally because I'm different, constantly reminded that my best is never good enough no matter how hard I try, and have had everyone treat me like I'm an a$$hole for not conforming to their NT standards. So don't talk to me about "can-do go-getter attitude"!

"Can-do" and "go getter" are dog whistles that financially secure able NTs use to claim credit for their unearned privileges.

It won't be very wise for me to live like I was dying as I'm now.

Had that been the case, I'd go full throttle recklessness without slowing down.

Consequently would just hurt everyone around me by further confusion or shock and my lifespan significantly shorten which just escalates the hurt.

Perhaps in another time, when I do feel that live like I'm dying would meant to appreciate every second, being free and reconcilation.

I make a point of living each day like it's my last. I make a point of living my life to the fullest.
