Has anyone tried so hard to prevent something from happening, that it happens ten times worse later on?

This has happened to me on numerous occassions. I've purposely removed myself from situations (e.g. not parking in a bad neighborhood due to fear of getting my car broken into, but then find my car broken into in a wealthy neighborhood.). Just before I signed into my facebook account. I deactivated it two years ago, and haven't "unintentionally" signed into it in two years. My fingers did the motion without me realizing it. I didn't go on for two years due to fear of being bullied, but somehow tonight, my fingers did it despite my mind sceaming no and that i'll be bullied again.

I swear life is determined to some degree. I just want to know other peoples' thoughts on this and if they encounter similar, unpreventable (seemingly preventable) situations from happening.

Bottom line, I think my mind isn't matching my body.

My kung fu teacher said once, "Whatever we focus on gets bigger in our lives."

Similar to "The Law of Attraction", maybe?

< My user name comes from a time when I was a bit more positive about my life, and I used to focus on bringing good things, and it worked sometimes / and often. Coincidence? Perhaps....but I'd prefer to believe that magic is real.

Or a more mature, intelligent person might say : "that we have some control over our destiny".
I don't know....

I've had this song in my head the last couple of days:

Recall the lyrics, "Every life we have some trouble, when you worry, you make it double." Seems there's likely a good deal of truth in that.
