Does anyone else ever get to the point where they hear everything as a metaphor? I think it may come from taking so many things literally and finding out later that you are wrong. Eventually you just become suspicious of all NT's thinking *everything they say* is some type of subtle metaphor.

In a way, though it's my words I scan for any meaning that can possibly be placed on them that I don't intend to convey.

It's the same thing, really, as people will fill in something they think is a gap, even if none is there.

Sometimes. Not immediately but later, when I'm reviewing the conversation.

I can indeed get to the point sometimes of being a conversational soothsayer: picking through the entrails of every conversation in search of social divination.

Not exactly, but I start doubting myself when I take things literally, even though I still do. And sometimes I'm right in taking things literally, but I don't trust myself.

Everything seems like a metaphor to me.

Ultimately the true meaning of everything is whatever I want to be.

I still feel like I owe entities an amount of USD in the range of 1300-1500, though. It's not much, but it's more than 0. Negative numbers don't actually exist.

If everything became a metaphor, I'd be totally lost. Metaphors are something I've never understood.

You just gave me idea for a very funny sketch, or maybe reminded me of one that's already been made. Anyway, there's a lot of canned laughter going on in my brain.
