ENTJ is the leadership personality traits..

INTJ poses the same traits minus the extravert.. Almost a leader amoung introverts..

HOWEVER, in the INTJ description, it states that they will only lead when a leader has proven himself incapable.. In other words, they will "follow" HOWEVER, if 2 people are both INTJ and no leader is present then they would choose, together, the most logical response and not 'who is right' response.. They would follow logic which is not easily arguable and easily agreeable

So, what I'm trying to say is that ENTJ desire to be number 1 (I assume). INTJ's, not enjoying the spot light, would prefer to be number 2. If there are 5 INTJs, they will most likely brain storm and decide on the best decision. 5 ENTJ's may just fight for the #1 spot which would invoke war..

Just a general thought.. Feel free to rip into it, there are lots of holes, I just kind of generalized my idear and gave a simplified version

Fits me, and I'm INTJ.

I can do leadership, but I don't like it. And yes, I have been driven to it a few times, due to lack of, or failure in, leadership in a variety of settings.

I like doing things well, so if you ask me to lead, watch out, because I will LEAD.

I'm more comfortable supplying ideas and suggestions, observations, to a leader.
Or working with a free hand UNDER a given remit or objective, if it's been well set-out.
With clearly defined limits of freedom. (Thank you Douglas Adams)

I think it is pretty "aspie" to be better at observing and finding solutions to problems then motivating
groups to do what they should. However,in an emergency when I can remain calm(my old job dealing with teens who liked to fight, etc),I did find that people will listen to me.I also dont have a lot of "fears"...except talking to people, driving, talking on the phone,maggots.(LOL)...

It fits. I'm INTJ and I don't want to lead, I want to be the leader's lieutenant, however, I will lead if I'm the most competent person in the room.

haha this is the issue, all us INTJ's are WILLING to lead but we prefer to be the man behind the man.. so ya, it balances it out to a tie for second and us choosing the best solution possible..

If this were a dominant introvert world, I dont think we'd have any one leader but a small council choosing what works, whats logical, and whats best for society.. we can clearly see that doesnt happen now everytime they pass a bill or a new law..

I, myself, will lead, but I dislike it.. sometimes I feel I am simply pointing out the obvious and get frustrated when I need to inform some people of items I think are more common knowledge (under logic though)

INTJ is recognized as the most independent, its no wonder none of us will lead

Makes sense to me. I am an INTJ who frequently masquarades as an ISTJ (I happen to have many traits of both). I hate leading unless the person leading is incompetent and illogical. In that case, I will take charge. Most of the time, however, I like to think of myself more as a "second in command" type of person- if I am to be working as part of a group.

its hilarious how true this is...

All too often I find that I dont want the responsibility of taking the lead, but if no one else is able, then I reluctantly step up.

I do a good job, its just that I dont like the limelight.

I totally agree with krex though... we know what to do, and that part is easy, but getting the group to happily follow can be a challenge sometimes.

Is there a good online test to see what type you are? Any recommendations?

I'm INTJ, and would lead if I had to, but would prefer being second.

i often say i never want to be a leader, i'd rather be the right hand (wo)man.

i am often given the role of leader because i -appear- capable and responsible, but i loathe having to designate tasks. probably why i always quit a job when i get news of a promotion. i find people to be generally incompetent and oftentimes i would wind up doing their jobs, overworking myself and thus culminating in a breakdown.

that's not a leadership quality, i don't think ;)

the best way around having to 'motivate' someone is to do the best i can, and hopefully lead by example.

I believe this: Social interaction will be lost in the next step of evolution because it will promote man's interest in mental stimulation.

I'm ESFJ and I typically like to be the leader. I'll sometimes let others have the limelight, but not always. Only if I know I can take control of the situation without too much hassle.

Well, since we, minus the E personality person, dont want to be leader but remain at number 2, any war stemming from the idea of becoming number 1 will or should cease (America and USSR's cold war)

This pretty much fits me. I don't like leading but I don't like delegating work either, so I usually end up being the leader when we have to work in small groups in class because
1. I usually understand things the best among us (us being the group I usually work with), and I don't like knowing someone's doing things wrong or not the best possible so I tend to butt in and try to do it myself (unless I can contain myself)
2. I'm usually the only one who even cares

I think in my case it's also because of OCPD traits.
