when i was 16 i was more chilled and at times i walked around like i had no care in the world and more people were drawn too me as a result

these days unfourtantly i walk around with a stuck up my ass. i am just uptight and i hate the world, self absorbed and i can't tolerate some peoples beliefs.

is this what being on the spectrum will do too you once you cross that bridge from teenagehood too adulthood????? i have been walking around with a stick up my ass since i was 19.

I mean who knows just because i am a gormless butthead now does not mean when i am in my 30's i will be that same confident guy who used too carry himself well in his mid teens.

I don't know that is AS related...I mean I am 22 and I feel pretty tolerant of others, there are some things that piss me off. Also I do have anxiety, depression an PTSD so when I am not 'medicating' symptoms of those can make thing unpleasent for me and anyone else around.

Childhood is measured out by sounds and smells and sights, before the dark hour of reason grows.
(John Betjeman)

Jamesy, you're growing up. That's all.
We all have to find our own way.

I will be 30 later this year and I actually feel more tolerant and happier about life than I've ever been. When I learned last year that I have asperger's I felt like I finally belonged in this world.

I'd suggest getting into philosophy. Try Thomas Nagel and focus on his ethical views. Avoid nihilistic philosophers like the plague.

Seconding this, Neitzsche is amazing-- despite popular opinion, he was not a nihilist. He believed in the overman (ubermensch); a quickie description here: https://ccrma.stanford.edu/~pj97/Nietzsche.htm to get you started.

You'll change from nineteen to twenty-eight. I know, because I did. At nineteen, I was a fundamentalist with a legalist outlook, a lot of naive belief in my own intelligence and my own ability, and very little knowledge about other people. I've grown since then--grown, a lot, and changed.

It's a misconception that you stop maturing when you're eighteen. You don't. It's a life-long process. I think I'll be more mature and more capable at thirty-eight than I am now, and even more so at forty-eight. I talk to people in their seventies and eighties and they've had so much more time to learn than I have, and I think to myself sometimes, "Wow. Someday I'll have that much experience too."

Its prolly just indicative of a less happy life. I would suggest processing whatever is on your plate now, and try a fresh start somewhere new

That new place being geographical or spiritual, spiritual being the better option of the two

Hello!

If you are on any kind of mental health medications, you may want your therapist to reevaluate as to whether or not the dosage needs to be changed, or if you may need to switch to - or add - another medication. Like PMS and 28-day PMS, having a 'stick up there' is one thing. ALWAYS having one up there is a completely different matter altogether!

Have A Great Day!

Rob
