I can handle and enjoy a light giggle, but when I get to laughing hard, it's painfully uncomfortable. My muscles tighten and I have trouble breathing, and a lot of the time, I get grey/black blurs in my vision (like prior to one passing out). If I'm laying down and start laughing, I'll pretty much stop breathing, and then I panic, and begin to cry. I don't have asthma or any diagnosed breathing difficulties. I know the phrase "laugh so hard it hurts" is common, but I feel like it's exponentially true in my case.
I read online of a spontaneous condition known as 'laughter-induced syncope", which is basically fainting from laughter. I keep wondering if this is going to happen to me some day, since I feel like I'm about to pass out every time, but never have.
I'm not sure if or how this could be related to AS, so please feel free to move this post if it's OT...but I thought maybe it was partially relevant because it's a strong emotion and physical sensation, which can be issues with AS.
