i feel that after consuming a can of strong beer, i am able to behave more like an NT person. i act more confidently and talk louder. any other aspies feel the same way? please share :D but please do not reply if you are not an aspie.

another thing.. does black and white thinking of aspies result in jumping to conclusions or developing own set of rules easily ?

thank you

Well I don't know that alcohol makes me behave in a more NT manner......but it certainly does make socializing easier because it impairs the frontal lobe which reduces any over-thinking I might do in social situations.

They tell me that alcohol makes me even more boring than I am now.

Even NT's call it "courage in a bottle." There you go.

Personally I don't like using it. Cannabis does a much better job of reducing my symptoms, and also does a much better job at making me feel emotional empathy. It also is much less impairing than alcohol, the relief of symptoms lasts much longer, and it stops the extreme overtalking that plagues me sometimes, where I bumble on and on.

Alcohol does the same with me, although it takes about a quarts worth of hard liquor.

Booze just makes me a slower, dumber Aspie who has to pee a lot.

No, it lessens social anxiety.
Which means you're still a complete dumbf*ck socially, you just aren't as worried about it, which will probably lead to more dumbf*ckery.

Yep, I am just a louder, more inappropriate, more stick-outable version of my usual self talking more about drinking rat milk and necklace pendants made of wisdom teeth that everyone must greet before they greet me. Alkyhol does not make me more NT or socially adept.

Alcohol impairs mental function. Therefore, it seems likely that an Aspie would behave in a manner similar to an NT under the influence.

I definitely feel the same way after sufficient alcohol consumption, but i wonder if it is just that i feel better and happier, and therefore less self conscious. There is a big difference between actual alleviation of symptoms, and become impaired/altered enough that you dont care about things and forget they are problem temporarily.

However there is a way to explore this theory. Clinical experiments! This would be the most enjoyable study to take part in. Sign me up please!

Alcohol makes me feel less self conscious but I don't think it makes me any more 'normal'. If anything I annoy people more by repeating things over and over, stumbling around, etc.

I used to enjoy alcohol but anymore it just makes me feel slow, which doesn't seem fun to me. I'm not sure why I ever thought it was fun. I think I was really, really, really self-conscious

It doesn't make it easier for me but harder instead.

I am not anxious to begin so being drunk doesn't change anything about that.

But when I'm drunk, my sensory processing worsens considerably, speech gets all funny and I suddenly begin to overhear people, not notice things immediately and so on... this alcohol-induced temporary stupidity isn't different for normal people, I guess.

Friends and acquaintances sure act funnier and worse than ever when they're drunk.

Yes that too....I only mentioned that it stops me from over-thinking, but it reduces that as well. Thing is I can handle my alcohol and rarely commit much dumbf*ckery while under it's influence. Unless headbanging to metal music is dumb f*ckery.

I think they just function differently, there are downsides and benefits to both.
