Hello there,

Does anyone know if it is possible to receive medi-cal coverage in California due to an Aspergers diagnoses? I am 29, Female, in college working on a biology degree and diagnosed with Aspergers and will fit in to the new DSM V when that is the standard. I can range from high functioning to very low functioning and have hard a hard time keeping a job very long term. The past 3 years I have been working in the adult industry which has worked out pretty well, but don't make enough to pay for medical insurance. I am lucky enough to have been seeing the same therapist for the past 7 years or so who is now seeing me pro-bono and have only recently sought help outside of therapy to deal with Aspergers related symptoms. I am kind of in fear of a couple things. Being injured on the job or doing something stupid out of a rage on a low functioning day and hurting myself(not on purpose).

Oh and one more thing. I am surprised at the amount of people who don't mind the term Aspie. I can't stand that word or being called that. Anyways.... Thanks for any help or advice.
