Anybody else that have done this? I used to jump over fences at school when I didn't feel like going around.

Ours were chain link with no barbed wire at the top. Climbing them was easy, and getting across the top a non issue. However, as they left the gates open, we could just walk out. But the teachers always ratted us out to our parents. No fun!

No, I usually bump into things. Walking is problem enough without getting tricksy :)

I can jump like a basketball player, there is a picture of me, with my waist at least 3-ft above the ground, I can usually jump over things up to waist.

See... isnt that sweet, my waist is at her shoulders.

I do it all the time. My friends say it's cheating. I say it's creative problem solving.

All the time!

Well I used to, but some time in my early forties I seemed to lose some of that youthful vigor, though. One of my trademarks was to dive, feet first through an open, passenger-side window of my pickup truck and land behind the wheel, without opening the door.

I did have fun laughing at or teasing the men ten years younger than me who could no longer keep up with me, at work. (work was blue collar and physical)

I sometimes leap tall buildings. I an run faster than a speeding bullet too. (At least when I am not crashing into doorframes.)

Somewhat. If swivelling over a post or beam doesn't work, I prefer to crawl under, through the middle. Such as metal railings (esp. on stairways), with enough clearance for my body to fit between the bars and swing across. Don't want to be noticed "being odd" in public (since only children are "supposed" to act this way), I'd do these behaviors more if no one were looking.
Get annoyed by & impatient with situations in which it's expected for folks to walk around & circle back, when I could more easily just travel a straight line/direct path.

it is hardly to understand people just walk straight all the time, there are so many different options,
if it would not be regarded as foolish i'd flap my arms, jump, spin, run, ... more often.
but i only do it when in safe environments like my own house.
except a few moments when it gets uncontrolable like with the first sunbeams of spring or so.

I prefer climbing to jumping but I will jump over, climb over or crawl under obstructions. At 43,people probably think I should act more "dignified" but I like to go the most logical way from A to B and dont wear clothes or shoes that would prevent my doing so(as many adults do).

Same here, except that I'm 27, not 43, and people think I should act like a "lady" or whatever.
Bleh.
Tomboy forever.
However, I rarely jump over things as I'm VERY accident-prone. For example, I've cracked myself in the head twice over the past 2 days here at work. :?

'acting like adults should do' makes me think of teachers, i think they should run and jump a lot with the kids, which i do and this is not always considered 'ladylike' but it often is very possitive in problem situations ( i propose to play 'who can keep on jumping the longest' with them) and to change a bit once in a while (because i get bored sitting down all the time, just as they do).

Chairs, and I got in trouble for jumping out of a (one-story) window at school.
