I think there was a thread like this, but can't find it.

Clarisse from Fahrenheit 451: always chatting about nature, and asking why, naive and cheerful.

I've long thought Adele Mundy from David Drake's RCN series seemed like one. I certainly relate to her in many ways.

This is one of the most annoying aspects of my obsession with AS....I aways enjoy reading books about unusual "characters"....now I see aspies coming out of the walls....thinking...this trait fits but that one doesnt....it is a bit annoying...some examples recently....

Running with Scissors..(the author)....Paris Trout....(him or his wife...the wife's lawyer or his wife?)

Seven of Nine in Star Trek Voyager. She is blunt and tactless, and has little idea of how to socialise. Although it could be argued this is broguth about by her upbringing, the character could have been based on someone in realf life with a similar outlook, brought about by aspergers.

Harvey Pekar in American Splendor (the film), as well as his colleague.

Anya in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the later series, anyway) resembles one, in that she is sometimes naieve, and in one scene where a person has died she complains that nobody will tell her how she's supposed to act. Also in an episode about her past she mentions people have objected to her 'taking things literally'.

"brick" was a total aspie imo

Jean-Baptiste Grenouille from Perfume - The Story of a Murderer:

  • Heightened senses
  • Obsessive interests
  • Socially inept

Of course, he was born to a prostitute in the most putrid place at the heart of the 18th century Paris market - under the fishmonger's table... :(

I recently saw American Beauty again, and wondered if Ricky Fitts played by Wes Bentley was an Aspie?

Sax Russel, the physicist character from Kim Stanley Robinson's Red Mars/Green Mars/Blue Mars trilogy of novels seems Aspie-ish to me.

Kipohan Lamron, a character in my story, which I plan to be released as a gob-smackkingly large novel. What makes her even more special is that she's an alien!

There was a thread like this in the Arts, Writing and Music forum awhile back. Possible characters who stick out in my mind are:

Mr. Spock (Star Trek)
Data (also Star Trek)
Mary Bennet (Pride and Prejudice)
Mr. Collins (Pride and Prejudice)
Gollum/Smeagol (from LotR)

These are the only ones I can think of off at the moment. Here is a site that contains a long list of more possibilities, though I would beg to differ on some of the characters listed.
