Ive seen people in here mention it, so I looked it up. The links Ive come across only mention fish oil being beneficial for children specifically, with aspergers. What are the benefits for adults? Should I take it? What other products would you reccomend?

Fish oil and olive oil provide essential fatty acids which reduce tissue inflammation, which is now associated with a wide variety of ailments and conditions. Also, EFAs are necessary for proper nervous system function. Essential fatty acids are essential because the body does not produce them, they must be consumed. Fish must not be fried and olive oil must be cold-pressed. Tuna should be packed in water. Excessive heat damages EFAs, rendering them nutritionally useless, and increases free radicals.

EFAs will not cure anything except possibly sore muscles. Taking fish or olive oil is a preventative measure, as is not smoking, getting enough rest, and drinking lots of water. Consult a doctor or nutritionist for more information.

I take 4 fish oil soft gels daily, to boost my body's levels of "good" cholesterol. It helps, though it doesn't lower my level of "bad" cholesterol. I'm taking 1000 mg of Niacin daily to help with that, since all "statin" drugs give me diarrhea.

I've never heard of any benefits of fish oil for us Aspies, though if it does I'm all set

EFAs are also supposedly good for those with ADHD and Apraxia as well and issues with arthritis I believe too... seems like it's got many uses. We used EFAs with Dylan due to his Apraxia and saw a big improvement in his speech/language.
