If you don't know what those are just list what drugs you have done.

I, of course, am sober. The reason I ask is that I heard from a text people with autism are more likely to suffer from drug abuse.

You didn't mention them, but I've also taken(and become addicted to) cocaine and I am an alcoholic as well.

Cocaine is an opioid.

THC is a byproduct of marijuana.

I inhaled marijuana once when I was 18. Otherwise, no

Hi, of course I smoke weed, have taken LSD many times, hash, alcohol. All for recreation, fun, smoke a few
puffs and go to a movie or to the beach. I have self control, always had, and do not overdo anything. One drink
and that's enough. But we are all different, some folks cannot seem to manage enjoying altered states briefly.

THC is the chemical compound in marijuana. I meant just to put THC.

How timely a thread this is! I quit alcohol and cocaine exactly one year ago, July 26, 2014, and I've never felt better. I'm going out more, eating less, have more energy, getting interested in new things, etc. Of course, now that my "buffers" to the world are gone, it's interesting that my Asperger's symptoms have increased somewhat. As alcohol was a social lubricant I find I can't hang out in crowds like I used to, at least not by myself anyway. Noises just seem louder and I am more easily distracted by lights and sounds. Since I steadily drank alcohol for 35 years you can technically say this is my first time living as a sober adult. Very new territory for me.

Well congratulations then! 1 year sober. :)

Don't know if I've suffered from drug abuse or not. I used to smoke tons of marijuana, and it went on for over 20 years. No doubt the UK establishment would call that abuse, but I didn't notice any harm, apart from trivial things like feeling a bit lazy, a slight short-term memory issue (not severe enough to lose me my job), and the munchies (not severe enough to make me obese). My only regret is that I used it so much that it eventually ceased to have any noticeable effect on me, so it's not worth bothering with it, and I miss it. I've tried leaving it alone for months and going back to it, but it still doesn't work. Maybe if I'd used it in moderation I'd have been able to enjoy it indefinitely.

You didn't include magic mushrooms. I had a good time with those for a couple of years in my youth, but stopped before they became illegal (penalties for possession are now pretty severe). Never came to any harm, but I was always wary of taking it too far.

I nearly took some amphetamines once, and still feel vaguely tempted to try them, but I doubt that I'll do it. Don't want to feel depressed coming down, don't want to get addicted, don't want to put my heart in danger, don't trust the stuff.

I haven't taken anything else on the OP's list, or any other illegal recreational drugs. I don't even smoke tobacco any more (it's a tosser's game), and I've all but given up alcohol. Legal recreational drugs are dangerous and I don't find them much fun.

Cocaine is an opioid.

No. It isn't. Opioids are compounds that resemble opium in their pharmacological effects. Cocaine is made from coca leaves. Not poppy plants. It effects an entirely different region of the brain. Wiki Page

Why no mention of alcohol, caffeine, nicotine?

Does "abuse" simply mean drugs illegally obtained and if so why?

I enjoyed my licensed time on morphine, and have a script for benzos. Does that constitute "abuse" and if so why?

I have taken all of those except methamphetamine...some of my drug use probably has fallen into the abuse category, though I am much more apt to avoid that now, though I cannot say I never slip up. I do smoke cannabis on a rather regular basis but that is to help avoid abusing more dangerous things and it helps with PTSD, anxiety, depression and some aspergers symptoms...I tried to self medicate with copious amounts of alcohol for a while and that didn't really help. I have a prescription for valium for anxiety which is a benzo, I cannot however take klonopin which is another one I was prescribed in the past.

I have also had psychedelics..such as LSD, psilocybin mushrooms, DMT....and then I do smoke cigarettes, though now I've switched to rolling my own so I smoke less and spend less, working so far.

I did loads of LSD in my youth, and for nicotine I now vape which I find infinitely preferable to cigarettes.
