I don't "deal" with it per se, it's just normal and a fact of life.

I've simply stopped knowing people. Of course I occasionally hand money or my insurance chipcard to some random Homo sapiens, but I don't really interact with them beyond that point, and I wouldn't greet or even recognize them in the streets.

How do you deal with the fact that the grass is green?

Its not something to be dealt with, it's just the way things are.

Not all nonautistic people are radically different than people that have autism

Very good point I think it's because of how nice I am and the fact hardly anyone knows what autism and its variations really are.

Also you guys rule!

There's no 'dealing with it'; it just is.
There are NT introverts.. find some :)
Find a group that does something you're passionate about and you'll find people that accept you.

That question was always in my mind when I was 15.

You learn to emulate their thinking. Side effect.. you can emulate any other thinking once you get out of the box ;)

In my case I tried to understand the 'rules' that they seemed to operate under even if I didn't personally 'get it'. I still listen to audiobooks at work that help me continue to grow my understanding of how NTs think. The latest book was pretty interesting - Sway: The Irresistible Pull of Irrational Behavior by Ori and Rom Brafman. I understand that they're not really following 'rules' but that is how I digest it.

If I were to guess it probably does have 'rules' but they absorb them unconsciously because they're more adept at mirroring others. I have to consciously think about it; they don't.

Yes - though they did learn them. We can learn to be better at conversation with practice.

I smell an exploit ;)

Because if things happens unconsciously, you can also feed that channel with your engineered input :P
Anyone with ideas how to identify and understand this specific process?
