When I'm at home, I often run around the house screaming, turning my head around, clapping my hands, etc. when I feel a surge of energy. I also sometimes roll and slide on the floor saying "Beep beep I'm a tractor". I also often lay on my bed and start moving my limbs around while making loud "euuuuhhhhh" noises.

What could be causing this? And is this behavior within the "limits of normal"?

It's within the limits of normal for an autistic person.

no... I don't think they do... Maybe once in their life if they are alone... but not regularly

NT children do things like this :) I've often thought that I've never really grown up. I'm 40 now, but emotionally I've just turned 16 or 17.

Sounds sensory seeking, and anyone is capable of being hyposensetive and sensory seeking.

But I don't think this is common for autistic people even.

I agree.

I am autistic and I don't do things like that.

I do wild and crazy things like this when NO ONE ELSE is around and I'm full of energy, and I'm not even that autistic. I've seen other people post about doing things like this too, so it seems to be somewhat common.

When I become hyperactive I do things like this.

An NT adult probably wouldn't do something like this, they would find more appropriate ways to be sensory seeking.

I don't do things like that. I would if there was small children around me, but that'd just be playing. NTs can do that too with small children. When me and my brother were babies, my dad used to pretend he was a monster, and could curl up on the floor then suddenly ''roar'', and we would run away laughing and screaming. It was fun LOL.

Ohay, I do similar things. I often randomly play hard core with my pets as an excuse, saying I'm an evil monster and i'm going to devour them and them om nom their head a little, then make them run around more. Or I'll go around the house with my arms out, pretending to be a plane and then crash land into objects or animals. Sometimes I'll stand in a room and just spin as fast as I can. When I was younger, I did this thing where I was crouched on my knees and spun myself around really really fast. Computer chairs are good for spinning, too.

Usually, I just make random noises like animals or creepy noises aliens might make, etc, to random people our animals in the house, and I'll make a scary face. I like saying roar ready deep and growly. Very fun.

perhaps not... but I have wondered... no one really knows what they do when they are all by their selves lol

When I am alone, I often talk to myself out loud, or sing, sometimes just doing notes and not words, like singing one instrument's part for a song.

I think most NT's do things like sports, go for a run/walk, or read.

I always need a little more than that so lots of times I run around the house, jumping onto my couch, springing back up, running around, throwing myself on the bed....which is a little silly and immature. I also like to have conversations and play around with my kitty cat.
