When they say: "I'll be over to fix the lights this weekend."
What they really mean: "See you in about 3 or 4 weeks."
When they say: "I can repair your flat tire for $30."
What they mean: "With the additional parts and labor added, the total comes to $300."
When they say: "Make yourself comfortable. Your waitress will be with you in a moment."
What they really mean: "Prepare for paying out the nose for a meal you can prepare at home for 1/4th the price."
When they say: "Sure. I think this band we're in can go to the top."
What they really mean: ""Um, not if it gets in the way of my real job."
When they say: "It's nice to meet you."
What they really mean: "I don't know or care who you are. I'm just following social convention."
When they say: "Why don't you talk to anybody very much?"
What they really mean: "You don't talk cause I haven't said hardly anything to you either as a result of being slightly stuck-up."

I think the point in this thread should be ''how to read people'', not so much just NTs, because I usually say most of the things written here too but I'm not NT.
