Wow, that's really cool. I wonder how much it costs. It's gotta be pretty expensive, with the biofeedback option.

At least it doesn't look as intimidating as Temple Grandin's' Hug Machine.

I have some issues with anxiety(an example would be around a crowd of people), although not hyperactivity. But it feels strange when I am here sometimes, because of the many different people on these forums, to explain myself normal and within the range of functional.

Anyway, about the vest:

I think that it looks like a good therapy and not an expression of the overwhelming amount of fads/pop-culture out there.

Huh, that must be like a portable pothole. I can't say I like the idea of my clothes giving me a hug, in fact the idea in itself sounds sort of creepy. This sounds like a case of engineers trying to solve problems that don't need solving. I don't want to be hugged by an inanimate object as much as I do a person.

I can't see the link but I think it has to do with deep pressure which is what I need to calm down and sleep. I have a heavy tiger blanket for that.

I laughed when I read this because I have a heavy tiger blanket, too! I was just thinking last night about how much I liked the weight of it even though I've been using it for over 30 years (during the winter, anyway!). Not that I need it to calm down, but it is quite comforting.

I prefer wrapping myself in a blanket. Having my arms and legs dangling out of the vest wouldn't feel very good.

That looks so cool. It also looks like it'll be too expensive though :(.

Deep pressure actually does do a lot for many of us, even when its not coming from a person. Weighted blankets seem to be the most common usage, but I can say for myself, the effect is huge. It's calming in both the short term in the long term.

I prefer a blanket, but blankets can't be used everywhere, especially not when they're 24 lbs.

At the moment I have a weighted blanket (24 lbs, queen sized), and a compression shirt that I just got and am liking. I'm thinking of making myself a weighted vest too.
