I don't care if it upsets people around me when I do it...

A sound, solid slapping of my hands together in front of me hard enough to make my hands sting and ears ring is often just what I need to get grounded... when its bad... I'll clap out a rythem!

CLAP CLAP!! !! !

It can be a stim.

Or more elaborately, a stereotypic/repetitive movement to stimulate the senses (and in turn stimulate cognitive functions, influence emotions).

What Sora said...

Although, realistically as I posted this I was sort of in simi-meltdown mode so it probably would have fit better in haven or whatever the other area is called...

I've calmed down some since...

If people hate, feel free to delete move or brush it off as someone posting something they shouldn't have... I wont mind.

Of course, I was so busy replying with replies, I missed the rhythm.

I have the advantage of a browser which spell checks as I write.

I used to have a bird that would bob up and down if you clapped. Then he would walk up and in between your hands and you would have to stop clapping.

I used to clap a lot when I was a kid. Used to drive my uncle insane

It wasn't so much clapping. I would stretch out all my fingers until the skin on my palms was tight then smash my hands together. Didn't half make a racket

Ticking I used to call it. I was so clever I invented my own clap :D
