I have been getting jumpy over the past few days with noise. Any noise. Sometimes I turn off all the power to my house just to get some quiet but I can't live without noise forever. I hear the humming of the extension cords, the fridge, the computers fan, cars outside, anything really. It just bothers me. Without the cost of noise canceling head phones is there a way to make it completely silent in my head.

Find a noise that you enjoy and drownd out the others with it. Plan b ear plugs reduce the noise if you put the ear muff type on at the same time complete silence unless it is a sound over 120 db. ear plugs are cheap and so are ear muffs at Sears in the tractor section. 25 bucks you can kill 95% of everyday noise. Befor warned when you take them off it harder to deal with the noise as it feels louder.
just an idea
You will look so stylish if you wear them in public though.
