I have to be at the Psych's office at 8:30 tomorrow morning for a day of testing. Not quite sure what to expect but I imagine I'll be reading a lot and completing visual tests. They said it would be about 7-hours worth of testing (yikes). I guess we'll finally see what my official diagnosis turns out to be :)

Good luck?I was really nervous,I think just having to talk to someone new.My "test" was 4 half hour sessions of him asking me questions.I still dont know if I believe in the validity of this kind ot "test"...I would prefer some thing more concrete...like a DNA test or cat scan..maybe someday.Anyway,Hope it goes well for you and not to stressful.

Based on the lack of knowledege, I would say they wouldn't know what to look for in a DNA test. An MRI MIGHT show it, but the difference could present as a different set of symptoms, so it wouldn't be conclusive.

Thanks guys. I'm finally home... it's been a LOOONG day! I was looking forward to being off work for this but it turned out to actually be worse than going to work. I went through test, after test, after test.... I did well on some of them (spatial details, arranging things into shapes) and blew some of the others (math problems... there was freakin' calculus stuff on there I've never even seen). All in all, though, it was very thorough and I don't see how there's anything they could've missed. If the administered tests weren't enough, there was a 370-question thing I had to do at the end of the day on paper. Soon I will meet again with the Psych. and he will go over all my results with me and give his verdict based on the testing and his 1.5 hour interview with me.

(BTW, what does the little "tapping" thing do? I had to place my hand on this pad and click a lever with my index finger as many times as possible in 10 seconds. It counted every click of the lever on a little counter. Had to do this about 3 times on each hand)
