I don't know if it's an aspie thing or not but I don't find what most people see in "hot" celebrities. I look through magazines and see how maybe other women find muscles, tight bodies, manicured chests and celebrity good looks, "attractive", but it's just not something I'm attracted to. I find more the dorky, stocky, glasses wearing, bald man FAR more attractive. Does anybody else not see the big fuss over what is considered to be "good looking" in society?

Well I guess I find some attractive........but I am more into metal musicians and such, that don't get as much publicity as your typical pop artist or movie actor.

I find Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Mia Wasikowska to be very attractive. But it was only after I became a fan of movies that they starred in that I really began to have feelings for them. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have thought anything of them.

Your question is impossible to answer. It is far too generalised. Celebrities are not clones. They all look different.

You might as well have asked:

"do you find non-celebrities attractive?"

which would be equally impossible to answer, since both categories of people (famous and non-famous) contain a broad range of physical looks.

Perhaps if you changed your title to mention a specific celebrity, your question might make more sense. :)

No, most celebrities aren't what I consider good looking, which is why I get kind of cheesed off looking at threads where people post pics of celebs they find good looking. I don't mind that they like them, but the mainstream type is SO far from my type. But I got to know of people who are EXACTLY my taste through their celebrity status. For someone with a (sort of) specific taste like mine, seeing my taste accounted for is a blessing. The first celebrity I liked for his looks is Brett Anderson - who was not masculine neither in singing nor looks. If he hadn't made himself a sexual object, and had the platform to do it, I'd feel really trapped in regards to what type of people I'm attracted to. I've felt trapped because of my attractions as a teen anyway.

The ones we constantly get told are attractive (like Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce and Angelina Jolie)...no.

But there are many others (like Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Roberts and Carly Rae Jepsen that I really do find attractive.

Can't really see what they actually look like under all that makeup and camera tricks.

Oh yes, that's my problem too... I don't like any message shoved down my throat, including the never-ending 'chart' of which celebrities are 'in'.

Reminds me of TV advert here in France for sofa's. Some over-endowed blonde woman draped all over them trying to look sexy. Apparently she is a celebrity but to me she just looks like a cheap hooker.

Determining what is attractive is very subjective. Hollywood and mainstream society does promote a generic look that I see so many try to imitate. One example is Angelina Jolie. There are a few 'hot' celebrities who have a distinct look and natural beauty but they are rare.

I never understood the frenzy and fixation of Hollywood even when I was a teenager. Perplexed!

No, I've never really cared for their looks, but some I admire for their talent.

Question: What do YOU find attractive in a mate? Hopefully this is better :)

I am not attracted to what other people call "attractive". I was just curious if it was an aspie thing or just me.

some of them yes. i guess part of them being popular is often physical attractiveness. i think though that anyone can look good with the right grooming/fashion etc so chances are that is something many celebrities focus/ get their wardrobe/bathroom gimp to do

I rarely pay attention anymore.

People forget a celebrities image is a business. They have a team of personal trainers, makeup artists, designers, personal chefs and assistants, plastic surgery, etc. to sell the image of sex. To market movies, products, restaurants, etc.

I don't quite understand celebrity worship. Admiring their talents I can understand, but most people worship them based on the premise of appearance.
Can someone explain this to me?

And I am getting off topic.
