The fact that most people don't think like me because i am on the spectrum has already been painfully obvious since on other forums and even on wrong planet i have gotten into heated arguments with people over topics becuase they can't seem too understand the point i am trying too make on things. it can also be very fustrating because it makes harder for me too make sense of the world and why people don't understand my ideas and beliefs.

if most people will not think the the way i do then what problems might that cause me in life?

This just goes to show how many NTs totally lack a proper theory of mind (they should educate it though, because no one in the world is born with it, NTs and auties alike).

I think that people should understand that different people think in different ways and they shouldn't reject or dislike people who think differently than them. Alas, that happens often even between NTs.

If you find nice, open-minded people who are tolerant of different views and you don't try to impose your way of thinking on others, then you shouldn't have any problems. Some people might even value differences in cognitive styles and processes.

With those obtuse individuals who can't tolerate difference, it's probably best to just let them be and, if you notice they get all worked up because you're thinking differently, change the subject and don't get into any arguments with them (because you won't win, especially if they are acting and thinking irrationally - and many NTs do so - even some Aspies have irrational thoughts, it's part of the human baggage, but because they are more logical and tend to take things literally, the potential for a discussion going awry the way it goes with irrational NTs is probably lower). You don't have to tell them you agree with them, just let them be and don't disagree with them.

I personally find that I'm thinking very differently than many NTs. My friends don't mind it, sometimes they even appreciate when I make a point they didn't think of and, if they don't understand or agree with my way of thinking, they don't get upset. People in my family, however, do sometimes get angry because they don't like the way I think - and we end up getting into huge fights.

So it all depends on the people you meet. But rest assured, at some point in life you will meet people who will appreciate difference (because these people exist in the world). The most conformist people are not like this, but you might be all right with more libertarian and nonconformist people....

Aspie-quiz results:
Aspie score: 138 of 200 / NT score: 78 of 200 => Very likely an Aspie.
