As a stim do you mess with your jewelry?

I'm constantly fidgeting with my ring or necklace. I move my ring up and down my finger and put my necklace on my ear and the small charm piece in my mouth (lightly not the whole thing since it is small.) Dad is always telling me to put my ring back on. :-) I was wondering if anyone else had the stim of messing with there jewelry. I do it out of bordem or even when talking to someone (I should be having eye contact and focused on our conversation and I'll be moving my ring.) :-) Thanks!

My typical stim is the standard finger flapping that I have read about since joining this site. I never thought much about jewelry and stimming. I often lightly tap my earring twice every so often. It has to be twice, probably an OCD thing going on there. I don't know if that's more out of stimming, habit, or checking to make sure it's still there. I think it's the latter. I do on occasion play with my toe ring in a way that might be considered stimming.

I pull on my left earring and play with my wedding ring as stims. I don't tend to wear other jewelry other than a small nose ring that I can't really play with and I just got a cartilage piercing (about 2 hours ago) that would HURT if I messed with it right now.

I never really thought about it in terms of stimming, but I'm constantly adjusting my rings. If they aren't in the "right" position, I fidget with them until they are. I do things like that when I play on the Xbox too. The controller has to be in a certain position against the base of my fingers or I'll sit for ten minutes repositioning it. I am almost always playing with jewelry or readjusting whatever I have in my hands, tv remotes, my cell phone, the Xbox controller...

I've ruined the clasp on my watch more than once by continually opening and closing it.

I usually HATE wearing jewelry of any kind. I used to wear a ring, and I would always be twirling it, or taking it off and putting it back on, or staring at the tiny diamonds in it. If I ever get married, I have no idea how I'll wear a wedding ring all the time... -.-

I wear earrings sometimes, and I spin them a lot in the piercing. I wear a necklace rarely, and I touch the pendant to my face a lot.

I don't know if it's unique to Autistics because I see people fiddling about with their neclaces of rings or bracelets, especially when they are talking. Not all the time, but I have seen people do it.

Yeah, sometimes when I'm nervous I'll play with my belly button ring or move my ring back and forth. Sometimes I play around with my earrings as well.

I always liked the feeling of lowering a chain into the palm of my hand.

Yes, I do this. I don't wear much jewellery, just a locket on a chain and a wedding ring. I regularly click my locket open and shut when I'm nervous, or twiddle with my wedding ring.

Definitely, for example when I was married I had a puzzle ring that came apart into 2 interlocking rings and I messed with it constantly. Aside from that I havent worn much jewelery as a guy but the few things I have always got twisted, turned and taken off/put back on a lot.

I've got multiple tongue piercings, and several others and yes I tend to play with them quite a bit. Until recently though I never really thought of it as a "stim" just that I was always playing with one or another.

I rarely wear jewelry but when I did, I would mess with it too.
