Standing up to bullies, success stories
Thought it could be interesting to have a topic collecting success stories from people standing up to bullies and bullies in all it's forms. Either in school, work, family or anything really.
My contribution : (may add more if my brain decide to tell em to me during the day)

Had a small group that tried to bully me all throu elementary- and middle-school. Have to respect their endurance but we all got tired of them never accepting a loss and in 10th grade I had enough. I made sure to get into a "confrontation" (no, not by heating him up) with the main guy in the midst of a large group of students in my school and and gave him a ultimatum at the point where he threatened to kick my ass again.
"Look now, at this point you have threatened me with ass-kicking for almost 10 years. Now we are all getting pretty tired of hearing your "promises" that never surface. You are constantly in trouble for making sure you keep your "promises" to everybody else. Now get of your lazy ass and keep mine god damn it!"
They actually stopped doing anything to anyone for the rest of my days in that school. Some of them took a 180 and gave me nothing but respect after that. That poor main dude apparently got so put out of he's place that we never saw him near me again. Even switched sidewalks at times if we crossed roads to school.
(just to be clear, I've never hit or threatened anyone in my life)

During a hockey game in physical education class, my leading bully came to me. I had lifted his stick to take the puck, which is all perfectly legal, but he didn't accept that (or was looking for a pretext). He said, menacingly: "Hey, wanna fight?" I said nothing, but dropped my stick in acceptance and took position to defend myself (I did not, and would not attack). He went away. I don't think he caused much problems after that.

the only bully i was able to deflect was a dull one in junior high school [even more dull-witted and weaker than me] who tried to shove me into my locker, but he didn't realize i had a secret weapon- steel-toed shoes, which i used to kick him in both kneecaps. he collapsed in noisy agony and left me alone thereafter. i wish that technique could've been used on all the rest of the bullies, who were too smart and too quick for such crude techniques.
When I was 15 I was getting bullied by some boys when I was walking home from school (never in school, just when I was walking home). And one hot April afternoon on my way home from school, they went in front of me and they both stopped, then one pushed me onto his mate and his mate held his foot out so that I'll trip over and nearly fall into the road, and instead of getting upset or ignoring them, I turned round, laughed at them, and said, ''your little plan worked then, what do you want, a medal?'' And I laughed again and carried on walking confidently (the warm weather made me feel cheerful, plus it was the start of the easter holiday). They both looked at me confused because they didn't quite know how to react to my reaction, and they never bullied me since.

I got bullied HEAVILY in junior high school - most of the time by girls who thought i would steal their boyfriends - but one time a gypsy girl tried to humiliate me (she had reputation as a bully) and i got very angry so i beated her. And since then nobody had the courage to bully me, i even became the most popular and respected. Until highschool though, when all the hyenas were against me

It was pretty much a weekly visit to the principal's office up through what they used to call Jr. High. Then in addition to being made out to be the a-hole for reaching my snapping point, there was a 'cultural diversity' agenda which went further to say I was also automatically wrong for having the 'wrong' skin color. After I got out of the hospital everybody left 'el loco' alone though
Along time ago there was someone a few grades younger then me who pushed people down for no reason. He did it to me a few times the first one I didn;t care but the next ones I was getting mad like everyone I finally had it when my sister told me to run because he was chasing her and her friends so I went and pushed him in the face and he fell down hard. Not like his sissy pushes where at the most you lost your balance. The best part was his mother was there and grounded him for trying to hurt someone and he was grounded an extra day because he tried to attack a girl.

tl:dr (im very tired)
my contribution:
i decided at a very young age the best way to avoid being picked on by bullies was to be a bully myself and it was a good decision. im very popular at school despite having ASD, ADD and asthma.
so the best way to deal with bullies is to be one. also i wouldnt acknowledge other bullies when they f****d with me. and if it went on long enough ide fight them. but ignoring them isnt enough. ignor them the day they do it then later without warning begin paying them out infront of your mates. pretend their calls dont effect you (lets face it if you have AS their calls wont effect you) and if need be fight them. as long as you dont look like a ret*d, dont cry and dont loose your s**t your fine. and when you go to the principle (if you got caught) dont betray them tell them to be cool and you be cool and now you probably have a new mate.
always works for me and ive done it alot!
