Outside of writing, which I don't think I am book-publishing material at, how can I turn health facts (mainly proving wrong myths about health) and tons of facts about the raccoon into a promising career? Outside of working in a zoo.

- environmentalist if you really like raccoons
- Professor pretty much can go with any interest - plus they get into doing research and writing books
- A person who works with statistics in the health field especially in psychology
- anything within research

In the movie 'Adam', Adam inspires his girlfriend to write a children's book about a family of Central Park raccoons. You can write a series of children's books about, say, a brother & sister raccoon or something like that.

Raccoons are seen as pesky critters in a lot of neigbourhoods. A job riddiñg the neighbourhood of pests like raccoons is a possibiliy. (Pest Control).

I didn't realize raccoons would be displayed in zoos since you can see them everywhere. I won't even mention hunting them as sustenance as they do down south because that would make you upset.

You don't need to impress publishing house editors anymore -- it is possible to publish independently on Amazon or similar. You might not make enough to thrive on, unless you can generate high quality and/or volume of works, but it can only help.

Circle out around raccoons until you find something that works for you. Naturalist focusing on Racoons and related habitat? Park Ranger in an area with high raccoon population? Animal Care specialist in a zoo or sanctuary that rehabilitates raccoons?

How about an online newsletter/blog about health. You could earn money by having ads on the site. Just set rules for the advertisers.

- No flashy ads that slow down page loading.
- No pop-up ads.
- No fake get rich quick ads.
- No ads promising to scan the visitor's PC for viruses. (Many of these actually put viruses on the visitor's PC, and then charge an arm and a leg to fix the problems they caused.)
- No ads for porn sites.
- No ads for producst/companies/services you don't approve of.

That will still leave a lot of available ads to earn you some cash. You can also sell stuff of your own on the site, such as booklets with health tips. Do one for exercise, one for healthy eating, one for general health stuff, like get enough sleep, etc. You could even include gardening tips--because of related healthy eating tips, but have this as a separate booklet.

Also, you could let health related products/companies/services put "biz cards" on your site for a low fee, or for free if they let you put your "biz card" on their sites.

You can get help in publishing the booklets at places like Lulu.com. They are a vanity publisher. You take your text work, music, art, videos, etc. to them and they "manufacture" the product. They can either advertise them for sale at their site, and/or you can advertise your product at your site. They get a cut of the profits, but that's fair because they do provide some much needed help.

On the other hand you could do all of this for a nature blog/ newsletter, instead of, or in addition to a health one. And you could have a raccoon character as the site's mascot.

I own a blogger blog about health myths and animals. Mainly the raccoon. And I have adsense for it, but I still only get a couple cents from it a month. I have publishes a few fact books on animals once but got nowhere with it so I simply published them to my blog. I may write a few booklets and stuff, I mean, all it can do is help I guess.
