If you feel challenged or under pressure this puts your nerves on edge, and then you're more likely to get angry in response to anything you see as a threat.

I get really nervous about important conversations. I worry about saying the wrong thing and upsetting people, and I wind myself up, and then I end up doing exactly what I wanted to avoid i.e. arguing or saying something stupid. It's because I'm on the defensive from the outset, but the people I'm talking to have no idea, so they're not prepared for the way I react.

Are you kidding? If I felt comfortable everywhere I was, my life would be FAR better!

if it isnt too personal a question, what kind of thigs wind people up?

i have problems with people i dont know and im instantly agressive towards my father, but maybe that says more about my relationship with him than my attitude to situations..

does being in a familiar place which has changed slightly upset anyone else?

sorry if i ask too many questions

Hmmn..

Thing that winds me up the most? Letting myself down.

Meaning making plans to finish/learn/achieve something, if I don't fulfill it, I tend to get very snappy in relation to everything stressful.

I get very wound-up and edgy when I'm in a room with a large number of good-looking people, regardless of whether they're girls or guys. If they looks good and there's a lot of them, their presence alone feels like a threat, and I feel like bolting out of the place at the first possible opportunity. Fortunately, alcohol helps in these situations.

I can usually handle places like shopping malls, because even though a lot of people there look good, they're spread out in a large space. Clubs or any other places with many good-looking people in a relatively small space, are extremely uncomfortable.

not at all. ppl touching my ears, taking my cd player without asking, grabbing my cellphone, and strangers talking to me and/or touching me. yes, slight changes DISTIRB me and can screw me up for the rest of the day.they changed the opening song on ghost in the shell and i stoped watching it. if this website changed i'd probably never come back... sad but true.oh, also loud overcrowded places and bright lights("i wear my suuun-glasses at night...")

I tend to be quite defensive somewhere where it's busy, crowded and hot, like the supermarket. So if anyone challenges me they tend to get part of my aggression. I'm not usually aggressive, honest.

Noise annoys me, if it's playing in the background for example in a shop, my concentration goes down by about 50%, add to it trying to decide what to buy, plus a couple of kids crying, then some announcement coming over the speakers 'chickens reduced' or whatever. It's an approaching meltdown scenario.

Some of the things that push my buttons.....

When I try and use Wrong Planet and the server is down....aaarrrggg

People who keep pressing me to do something when I have already said,No.....No,I dont want to wear that, eat that, drive,go to that place, etc.

Lazy people at work who would rather chit-chat about their mundane lives then care for the residents who need us.People who do things "half-ass" or with out any system or logic.

People with no interest in educating themselves about issues but just blindly follow their peers or family traditions and beliefs.

Republicans and born again Christians and their belief systems, priorities and lack of logic.

My own contradictions and logical gaps.

My own inability to see "greys" but only focus on black and white.

My own procrastination, lack of drive, stubborness, phobias, fear of change and insecurities.

My poor spelling, grammer and memory problems.

1) VRU systems. They drive me insane. This is quite ironic because part of my job is to make sure a Voice-Guided system works. I've figured out how to use ours without talking to it, which helps, but fortunately I don't actually have to use ours other than to make sure it's working. If I actually need to use a VRU to get what I want or need, it's awful, especially since I hate the telephone to begin with. My wife will leave the room if she knows I have to dial one. If I have to TALK to one, she might leave the house before I start screaming "LET ME TALK TO A FRACKING HUMAN BEING!! !! !" (Which most systems eventually recognize if you scream loud enough.)

2) People who can't speak english-- or, more accurately, people who can't speak english in a situation where they demand to communicate with me, or where I have to communicate with them. I don't think it's too much to ask that the person behind the counter be able to understand "Camel Lights in a Hard Pack", and I do think it's too much to ask for someone to expect me to help them when they can't communicate the problem.

3) Fools. I don't mean normal people, I mean FOOLS.

People who walk too slow when they are in front of me, and I can't get around them really gets me angry.

Music.
In primary school we had to learn the recorder and i just couldn't do it, i got really frustrated and would start crying, the teacher would pick on me and then all the kids would do it, i'd clam up and whenever i had to do something in music, i'd get a panic attack.
In high school everyone had to take music and i was extremely hostile towards my teacher, I'd sit with my arms cross and just glare at her, refusing to do what she said, luckily she was really nice and sort of wore me down, she didn't force you to do anything, let you work at your own pace, after that i really liked music, although i still can't play to save myself.
