Very cool!! Thumbs up! :D

I just adopted a pittbull today and I would like to train her as a service dog. I wanted to train my chihuahuas as service dogs but people trip over them.

I love service dogs. They were actually an interest of mine, briefly, long before I ever knew they were available for anyone but blind people.

She looks great, but I'm curious, what exactly does a service dog do for someone with AS (ie. what's the special training that makes it a "service" dog)?

When I take her out to social things all the NTs love to pet her and tell me how cute she is and ask me questions about her. It makes them easyer to talk to when they talk about something of my interest. She also makes me feel no so alone. It helps when Im at the mall or something by myself so that I dont freak out or have a meltdown or something.

She's such a sweet dog and very beautiful, as well. You're very lucky to have her as a service dog. :O)

I am actually looking into autism assistance dogs right now and would love more info from someone who went through the process. I'm a little worried I wouldn't qualify because I am so high functioning in so many areas. There are certain areas though that I would absolutely love to have a service dog trained to mitigate in though. I f anyone can give me more info on autism assistance dogs it would be greatly appreciated. I live in Pennsylvania right now so info on organizations providing them in Pennsylvania or even the Eastern Shore because that isn't to far from me would be great. Thank you.
