Is that why we have a fascination with patterns? We seek symmetry? Is this related to seeking balance or normalcy or regularity or something psychological along those lines?

I do not care about symmetry and appreciate the beauty of ugly. I do however, appreciate pattern, steadiness, and consistency. Repeating elements captivate me.

I remember when it became increasingly important that all my (music journalism) paragraphs contained the same number of lines or sentences. I felt a "tightening up" with each ensuing article. Now I write poetry which has made my hapless will to symmetry more contextually appropriate.

I absolutely love symmetry/patterns. It would be nice to make them all 6s though

What is more, 5 is one of my favorite numbers (the other two being 13 and 21) :D
