Hi,

I just want to vent I guess. I have used ebay for a very long time and have a perfect feedback which is very important to me.

Recently, I posted three pairs of earrings which I had made just as a test to see if they would get bid on or not.

They all got bid on, but without any additional bidders so I ended up losing money on basically every aspect of the sale, which is fine because I was just trying it as a test to see if eBay would be a good marketplace for my handmade items.

They sold for .99 cents, with free shipping. After paypal and ebay fees, that left me about 50 cents, but then I had to pay to ship them. I used Paypal's online shipping label with an estimated weight of 3 ounces (far exceeding the actual weight of .7 ounces).

I even mailed them at the post office because I had never used the online shipping thing before, and the lady weighed them and said it was ok.

Well, it turns out one of the sets of earrings arrived to the buyer with .31 cents postage due. Which he emailed me about, and I promptly refunded the entire .99 cents he had paid me.

So, my problem is that even though he left me a positive feedback, he said on his feedback that the earrings were nice "but the seller shipped with postage due".

I am so frustrated that this buyer had to add that. I shipped quickly, I did everything the best that I could at the time. But it is not enough for some people! He got them totally for free at no cost to him because I refunded his entire dollar. I didn't intentionally ship with postage due, I honestly trusted the paypal shipping as well as the post office worker at the actual post office where I mailed them to know what they were doing.

Sigh. I just feel really frustrated because it seems like some people will complain about *anything* and cannot even be pleased when they are coming out ahead. It just makes me want to quit, even though this is a relatively small matter, because I am so frustrated with the process.

Wouldn't it have just been enough for the buyer to say, "Thank you for the earrings, they are as described" and leave it at that? Or just leave no feedback and dance around with your free earrings. IDK!

That's awful.

He could still have made that comment, but followed it up with something like, "must be due to post office error and the merchant promptly rectified situation by refunding entire purchase price."

Sorry about this. Try again though; don't let this situation bum you out. Prove that guy wrong and keep on garnering positive feedback!

Good luck. :thumleft:
