I realize that being autistic increases likelihood of some other disorders related to anxiety such as OCD, or a few physical ailments such as epilepsy.

I believe my little brother may be dyslexic, as the last time he went to an eye doctor they said that he did the best "with blue lenses." I also think that I read somewhere that colored lenses are used to help dyslexic people. Well, he doesn't have any blue-colored lenses, and his handwriting is pretty much illegible without prompting, he often mistypes words.

Ex. He spells "Thomas" as "Tromes." If you correct him he'll keep typing the same thing unless you cover the keyboard so he has to feel for the keys.

Of course, my parents are just freaking stupid about this kind of thing and won't do anything unless I can provide a six-page essay complete with citations. [OK, I'm exaggerating, but they're not in any hurry to get him colored lenses.]

I also think that I may have some issue with it, though not to a damaging extent. [I find it very difficult to drive without borrowing my mom's sunglasses, which are sepia-colored. I can't explain how they help but they do.]

The coloured lenses are used to help with irlens syndrome. Not all of us with irlens syndrome are dyslexic.

You can also get coloured overlays. I use one and get far less eye strain.
