Does it bother you to have long fingernails? I can't stand to have grit or anything get stuck under mine. And mine never get hard so they snag or bend easily and it feels weird. I also hate the way it feels to cut them with clippers. When they get to a certain length I start chewing them off.

I don't like it when they are noticeably long and stuff starts to get stuck under them. But I don't check them, I just at some point notice "oh, nails are long" and trim them.
I still have my kiddie scissors, they are great for cutting fingernails.

I can't stand long fingernails. Cutting them too short bothers me too, so it's pretty annoying. Chewed off fingernails bother me even more... I can't recall having any issues with clippers until a few weeks ago. I was at my mom's and borrowed hers. Don't really know what I did, but the way my nails felt afterwards was really irritating for a few days.

Cannot stand long fingernails. As in, having any nail that extends past the nail beds. My fingernails 'ingrow' the same way toenails do, so if I let them get even a bit long, the sides of the nailbeds start indenting and going hard.
Plus it's dirty and gross, looks and feels horrible.

Mostly long, only when there's an inconvience, I'd be reminded of cutting nails.

I hate long fingernails. I still have a tendency to chew my nails from time to time but am making an effort to stop. I clip them regularly.

My toenails are another matter! Most of them are in a pretty poor state due to running, and get blackened. They have grown and regrown many times! If my feet were tough enough to run barefoot I would.

I'm not sure how long any of my fingernails have ever reached. I'm constantly chewing them when I'm in situations where I can't have my pacifier in my mouth. If it wasn't for my binkies, I doubt I'd have any left.

I hate when my fingernails are too long. When I notice that they are too long for me I tend to chew them because it is usually in situations when I have nothing to cut them. Unfortunately I always forget to cut them from time to time which would probably avoid the biting, but I pick and bit the area around my fingernails in general when I am nervous or bored or stressed, so the effect wouldn't be that great, instead of biting my nails I would just go on with the skin.

I have to keep my left hand nails trimmed very short so I can play the guitar. The right hand nails annoy me when they grow long, it makes it harder to type, and typing is annoying enough as it is. I don't mind using clippers, apart from the way the clippings tend to shoot all over the room.

I can't stand long nails either. I don't like having any sharp bits on my fingers. I cut them often and cut the corners too so they don't stick out.

I keep my nails short partly because they break easily & because I have skin eczema that makes me itch; I don't tear my skin up as much when I scratch with shorter nails.

Mine never break, because they don't harden enough to break. They bend instead of breaking, and I really don't like that feeling. Or they start peeling or shredding if they snag on things. That's usually how I end up chewing them off, mine square off on the sides and start snagging on things.

I don't know why it bothers me to use clippers on my fingernails. I can use them on my toenails with no problem. I can't stand to use a nail file on either though.

I bite my fingernails.

When my toenails get long, it becomes a real hassle. I tend to get ingrown toenails.

Am I understanding correctly, but do you bite your nails so badly you use a pacifier?

I'm not mocking. I bite my nails really, really badly to the point where I've broken two of my front teeth from it. One tooth is about to go altogether. And I still can't stop myself. I constantly make myself bleed in the fingertips from doing it so much. I spend hours a day doing this.

Just wondering if you had the same issue and had to use that as your solution.

I really hate long nails, they drive me crazy. I just cut them this evening because I couldn't stand them any longer. When they're long, I get the compulsion to chew them, but that just makes me hate them all the more because now they're ragged, uneven, and snag on things. I can't say why exactly they bother me, but they do. I've never worn those fake acrylic nails that a lot of women seem to love, that would be like paying someone to torture me.

I've got to keep mine cut shorter then the end of my fingers. If they get longer then that, it bothers me.
