Quote:
NEW YORK - An attempt to erect the world's largest Popsicle in a city square ended with a scene straight out of a disaster film — but much stickier.

The 25-foot-tall, 17 1/2-ton treat of frozen Snapple juice melted faster than expected Tuesday, flooding Union Square in downtown Manhattan with kiwi-strawberry-flavored fluid that sent pedestrians scurrying for higher ground.

Firefighters closed off several streets and used hoses to wash away the sugary goo.

You are obsessed with penguins, too, GH? Do you have a peculiar fascination with the idea of tapdancing ones?

No! not really! but here's a breafast jingle!

A dancing penguin spinning around your
cereal bowl ridge! and "A penguin in the
morning make the wheaties go down, the
wheaties goooooo! doooowwwwnn!
Ruolph!!!1Splew! " Hmmmm?

Telling a joke is definely not a strong point,

Oh how I would hate to have been there. I loathe all things sticky, the slightest hint of stickyness on my skin tortures me until it is rinsed away.

Arguably it wasn't cold enough for even the North Pole to settle in. and now New York City is flooded with the best stuff on Earth.

Talk about a out-of-luck moment for Snapple to promote frozen bars. I never really drink Snapple, but I wouldn't mind trying one of their Snapple-sicles anyways. I wonder if they have might have a mango kind also?

Twice actually. The first time was in boston in 1919. A tank collapsed because it simply wasn't strong enough to hold the load it was designed to. Sent a wall of molasses, destroying everything with in a several block radius and killed a bunch of people too.

Another incident happened in arkansas in 1932. A boiler heating a tank of molasses exploded becasue of failed relief valve, Scalding hot molasses came rushing down city streets, burning people to death.

Now if you'll excuse me, all this talk of molasses has made me hungry for baked beans...

I don't know what the temperature was that day but would common sense dictate that a 17 ton popsicle isn't going to last too long in New York's summer heat? Pu-lease.
