Has anyone tried the gluten free casien free diet? I decided to give it a try a week and a half ago. I didn't expect that it was going to do anything for me (you hear about it more with LFA), but I still HAD to give it a shot otherwise I'd always be wondering "what if...?". The stuff I've read says it takes at least a month and a half to see real results - what have other people experienced? I'm seeing small yet undeniable effects already - my husband has even commented on a few of them so I'm not just imagining it. (He's a good indicator because he doesn't actually know about the diet - I've managed to arrange our meals in such a way that he hasn't noticed it yet. I wanted to see if he'd start noticing changes in me, without having expectations of a diet/'treatment' to influence what he may or may not be seeing in me.) Don't get me wrong, I still have a LONG way to go but there have been some definite steps in the right direction. Is it the diet? Or maybe something totally unrelated and the timing is just a coincedence?

-eye contact is a little better, not quite as uncomfortable
-tactile hypersensitivity has improved
-aloofness - I'm not seeking out interaction with people any more than I ever did, but at the same time I'm not actively avoiding it as much either. My tolerance for it is higher.
-usually I rarely initiate conversation with people, especially if there are a few people around - they chat with each other while I listen quietly. Lately I've been initiating more conversation (small talk, of all things!). When my husband saw it last night he said he almost fell over, he was so surprised.
-at a monthly staff meeting at work last week I was talking more/sharing my opinions more than I ever do

It's only been a week and a half on the diet... I'm definitely gonna stick with it for awhile and see what happens. Time will tell... What have other people experienced with it?

I was once on a GF/milk-free diet but this had nothing todo with AS, I was just having problems with digestion and allergies at the time. I am unsure as to whether it helped me at all - if anything it was a bigger hinderence not to be able to eat normally. I am not able to digest gluten or lactose, so I use a gluten-digesting enzyme instead which does the trick (glutenzyme).
