or any similiar condition is your always expect to be perfect.
Example if you don't want to go to the party it's not because you
don't feel like it, because you have as/hfa. another one a NT person
can act and say stupid things, but the moment any of you guys do
people are like shocked. But worst of all when ever you go on any disabilty
programs they put you in the same level as a serve retardation person.

HUH?

If you want to go, you can go. OK, so AS may contribute to the reason. So what?

ANYBODY could say stupid things, ESPECIALLY under stress. I have! SO WHAT? I have actually said PROFOUND and maningful things, and was STILL considered stupid. SOMETIMES I actually got the last laugh later.

DIsability programs? So the person is an IDIOT! That could happen with ANYONE!

I was once put in an orphanage for NO reason! Some idiot recently saw that I had a heart operation, and put me on a "cardiac" diet! STUPID! MAN did I have trouble telling them I liked the icecream better, and it would NOT affect my heart adversely, but the greens they gave me could contribute to a stroke!

Alas, they think cardiac is cardiac and don't understand that a myocardial infarction(what they THOUGHT I had) is ****VERY**** different from a dissected aorta and valve replacement(which I had).

Frankly, I will admit to being AS and autistic ONLY because they are the only ones having the symptoms I have, etc... If you looked at me, you wouldn't think I was different. OK, my emotions every few years might seem extreme for some situation. Every few months, I might avert my eyes/ears because of the environment. So I know a LOT of stuff, con program in several languages, and am pretty articulate. Heck, even some DANISH people told me I have a beatiful danish accent. So WHERE is the problem? The problems are the NTs concern(they don't heed my concerns, they probably WILL suffer, I am the canary and we are in the mines!)! Some problems are mine(nobody else has to know about them, and they certainly don't care about them.

If I told my boss or my father I was autistic, they would probably LAUGH! Until I showed them the symptom list, got customers to confirm how I acted with alarms, and reminded them about how I eracted YEARS ago, they would probably never figure it out. THEN, all of the sudden, everything snaps into place. Mysteries that bugged me for DECADES would instanly make sense.

BTW Why are you bringing up stuff like this anyway?

Steve

lightning88,

You MIGHT be right, but he really DOES sound more like a troll. Almost every post seems to be an attempt to try to make us upset or depressed. That isn't the way to make friends, etc... Frankly, I don't like it. If my mother does it, I come VERY close to saying "SHUT UP!"! You know, she is THOUSANDS of miles away from me, on a fixed income, etc... and she STILL calls if she sees, on the TV, that the wheather is bad! Anyway, I think I have responded enough to him. Hopefully nobody else will either. Maybe then he will leave.

Steve

not all disability programs are like that, there are ones that are tailored to each person but is still group based, look around for one that suits if wanted.
also, what is bad about people who are classed as severely ret*d,they are as human as anyone else and are not rubbish that should be kept away from.

I think Steve seems to have a larger experience with trolls than the normal internet user, so I think he's seen this sort of thing before. As I always do, I'm going to give the topic creator the benefit of the doubt, but I can also see how this can turn out to be a troll (opens up his/her feelings, gets some responses, critisizes us for them, we say we didn't mean it, he/she doesn't 'beleive' us, they say bad things about us, they leave. See?).

Let's just watch on and see how it pans out.

I hang out with "NTs" quite often, but I do find it insulting that you call "HURRRR normal people hurka durk NTs, because us aspies are quite different". I do, however, like to get high, drunk, and enjoy parties. Asperger's men like myself really aren't much different from the average male, so if you're trying to be funny, stop sh*****g up these forums.

I also like to trip, so stop trolling the forums, which I assume you're doing. If not I apologize.

Mitch8817,

I have only used that with like 2 people on this board, and have maybe only accused 15 people IN MY LIFE of it. Why is he always posting NEGATIVE things, and NOT to get or concern,or even create discussion? And WHY are there multiple threads to do that?

I think his FIRST post was the only one that seemed kind of normal.

I, on the otherhand, like the rest of you, may have posted negative posts, but they were to voice a concern to get people thinking, or look for some sort of help.

BTW I don't think I have ever been accused of being a troll.

Besides, as I said, his fears are BASELESS!

We should try to get nurses that try to REALLY help and consider compensation to be COMPENSATION(Value given for value taken) as opposed to status or pay(value given).

The problems affect NTs as well.

Ok as I understand it the syndrome is a social disfunctioning condition. Social is in person, on phone on internet, whenever two individuals are together. If one has a problem with social interaction than no matter when or when the interaction takes place there is the probability that there will be disfunction. Then the rest of us with social disfunctioning skills give each other the business because we are just like that. Whether the writer or reader is a troll--who cloned that phrase and what does it matter--the forum is to assist one another in the social disfunctioning.

It matters BIG TIME!

A trolls job is to annoy people and waste time. That's IT! The word was coined LONG ago!

Quote:
Jargon File - Cite This Source
troll

v.,n. 1. [From the Usenet group alt.folklore.urban] Toutter a posting on Usenet designed to attract predictableresponses or flames; or, the post itself. Derives from the phrase"trolling for newbies" which in turn comes from mainstream"trolling", a style of fishing in which one trails bait through alikely spot hoping for a bite. The well-constructed troll is a postthat induces lots of newbies and flamers to make themselves lookeven more clueless than they already do, while subtly conveying tothe more savvy and experienced that it is in fact a deliberatetroll. If you don't fall for the joke, you get to be in on it. Seealso YHBT. 2. An individual who chronically trolls in sense 1;regularly posts specious arguments, flames or personal attacks to anewsgroup, discussion list, or in email for no other purpose than toannoy someone or disrupt a discussion. Trolls are recognizable bythe fact that the have no real interest in learning about the topicat hand - they simply want to utter flame bait. Like the uglycreatures they are named after, they exhibit no redeemingcharacteristics, and as such, they are recognized as a lower form oflife on the net, as in, "Oh, ignore him, he's just a troll." 3.[Berkeley] Computer lab monitor. A popular campus job for CSstudents. Duties include helping newbies and ensuring that labpolicies are followed. Probably so-called because it involveslurking in dark cavelike corners.

Well, I didn't understand it in the same way shown here, but the concept is the same.

Obviously by the number of posts I have made you can determine that I am new to the forum. Thanks for the information about trolls, I understand the concept, however any poster could be considered a troll by another simply because the one is tired of the posts made by another or disagree with those of another. Seems to me another symptom of AS is repetitiveness and a fixation on certain subjects, objects and one could be considered a troll simply because of the fixation on the matter at hand.

Nope, it's a bit different from that. There are LOTS of people I disagree with. Some VERY prolific posters. Some even ALWAYS say things I disagree with. Yet I never called them a troll. Just because you hate what a person says doesn't make them a troll. When they post something obviously false, or insulting, and do it over and over again in different ways, and it can have no merit, its a troll. Anyway, I think I have given this thread enough attention.
