Another person said I was possessed.
What's up with the demons?
Well... that beats my worst story. Seriously though... WTF?

If you want a good guess outofplace, I would guess Jehovah's Witnesses or maybe some kind of fundie Christian group that is almost as bad as the Westboro Baptist Church.
Even though I don't have a diagnosis but just suspect I might have Asperger's, I've mostly kept my hypothesis to myself because without an official diagnosis, people would probably tell me it's all in my head and even with a diagnosis, I still would keep the information to myself because I have no idea how people would react. I have told friends that I am close to about how I suspect it and their reactions have all been positive reactions so far. I even told some family members, but not very many. Their reactions were positive as well.

I actually am a fundamentalist Christian and can't see thinking like that. Then again, there are ignorant and misguided people in every group, so it is definitely possible. I have known of a few of my faith that saw every mental illness as demonic possession, but they were usually not well educated and tended to be "experiential". What I call an experiential person is someone who sees everything as having spiritual significance and is into their faith for a religious high rather than for a real relationship with God. They tend to follow "prosperity gospel" preachers and other charlatans rather than men of God who are grounded in the realities of life and their faith. Sorry but living the Christian life is more about service to others and living by faith in accordance with the teachings of the Bible in regards to righteous living than it is about casting out demons, healing, etc. Most of these people skip the parts that are hard though, like humility, keeping sex within marriage, service to others in need, etc. and go right for the pleasure high they are seeking. This is not to say I do not believe in healing or the existence of demonic possession. I do, but I see these things as having a more minor role than some of my faith do. Maybe that's because of my more logical nature and maybe I am wrong in how I see things, so please don't take what I say as canonical.

My family consists of Orthodox Jews and Fundamental/Independant Baptists (among other religions). Hence the Gehinnom and hell references. As for the (Orthodox) Jewish part, I believe their animosity stemmed from interfaith marriage more than AS (though it was mentioned), especially since Jews tend to not believe in possession as much as catholics and those who observe a more fundamental interpretation of Christianity. Being a "filthy Unbeliever," I guess I'm now going to burn for another reason.

I apologize if what I said was offensive in anyway. I didn't realize that you were a Christian. I honestly don't understand at all why you would be a Christian when the god you believe in sounds like a hideous monster to me, but this isn't the proper section of the forum to discuss why I would think such a thing.

Well, I sent my ex-girlfriend an email about it, asking if she could look into Asperger's Syndrome and from what she could gleam about it, see if she remembered anything from our relationship that I might have forgotten, that fit the bill. She's intelligent and took plenty of developmental/psych classes so I was hoping she'd offer some deep insight since I know some of my issues gave her absolute hell...instead, she calls me, for the first time in three years, to tell me I'm wasting my time because she works with someone who has Asperger's and I'm nothing like them. This, coming from the girl who heckled me for years because her parents thought it was so rude of me to never look them in the eyes when we talked.

It's a matter of perspective. What you see as bad, I see as logical from my point of view. It's not my place to judge God by my or the current culture's standards, if he is indeed God. However, I will leave it at that because, as you said, it's not really the right place for this sort of discussion.

That is stupid. It really jsut depends on the person, not the sex.
I haven't really had any crazy reactions. Most people seemed shocked when I told them lol. And then I had to explain it to people who didn't know what it was lol.
