The only time this one neighbor has anything to do with me is when she feels the need to gossip about other neighbors around here or want to be a busybody. She called last night and I didn't even answer the phone this time because I knew what she was going to say just like with all of her other phone calls. Otherwise she wouldn't even spit on the best part of me. I don't know how to take her she is so moody and strange.

I have enough problems of my own without someone like that. So do anyone else on the Autism Spectrum have a neighbor like this?

I dont know how it should be handled but, I would have done the same thing.

all my neighbors are like that. I hate it and avoid them all. I refuse to give them fodder for their gossip.

only time my neighbor calls is when she wants to know when garbage day is, (if the holiday falls on the day it gets collected (which is Wednesdays for me) its picked up the next day) this is because we have one-day-a-week pickup, which many people hate because it stinks and causes alot of garbage to pick up for the trash haulers.


dirtdigger: if they get into the gossip that you don't care to hear, tell them you have to do something that cannot wait or you were on your way out to the store before it closes. to me it sounds like your neighbor is one of the social ones who loves to talk, and thinks you are the best target to talk to.

one of my dad's friends is like that too (gossipy type) i don't mind when she talks about the fire house or what her kids did or what vacations they went on or stuff they did in high school years, but i hate when she will repeat the same stories as if it just happened. when she does this, i just tell her "sorry but right now is not a good time"

I think the majority of people enjoy gossiping about others. I'm not fond of it myself but its pretty common.

My neighbors don't even talk to me when I see them face to face. lol

Longest conversation I had with my neighbors in the past few years was some like this "Hello", "Hello".

The only time my neighbour calls is when one of their children accidentally throws a ball over our backyard fence.

I rarely have contact with my neighbors and it's never been about gossip.
