im not sure if this is normal or not but i used to have stronger reactions to being told off than my peers, at least from anyone that was not my parents :D, if a teacher told me off, i used to have panic attacks, im not sure if i still would as i have not been in trouble with a teacher for a number of years, I avoided a teacher for 4 years because she told me off once, i thought she must not like me which i can now see as being silly, i was about 9 at the time. The last time this happened i was 15, and again had to be taken out of the class because i started having a panic attack which was extremly embarrassing. i dont know why this happens really, i think it may have something to with them being in authority but im not certain.

Does anyone esle experience this or something similar? :)

Are you familiar with the mimosa plant? When you touch its leaves, they fold inwards, protectively covering its insides. I'm like that. One insult and I disappear. I have avoidance personality disorder also so I really try not to slight or cross anyone. It still happens though because I'm also autistic and don't know that sometimes what I've said has crossed the line. In the end, it just becomes simpler for me to avoid people altogether. That's not good, but it minimizes damage.

I was like this. The main problem, though, was that I was also very sensitive to other people getting told off. I cried a few times because the teacher shouted at somebody else or the class in general. It was so bad that if I knew we were going to have a substitute teacher, which meant everybody else would act up and get yelled at, I would pretend to be sick so that I could stay home until the normal teacher was back.

I was very sensitive to others being told off and to myself being told off as well. I remember crying while the teacher was yelling at the class for something that I had nothing to do with. got taken out of there. most embarrassing.
