Struggling aspie. I am far more interested in facts and actual situations since they present me an opportunity to both learn and to dissect the problem and try to solve it. Fiction is predictable and real life is not.

I'd read the story if it was a fiction novel, even if it was based on true events but I'd be even more likely to read it if the struggling aspie was female.

I'd read a non-fiction book about Asperger's Syndrome if the person was female as well, we need more books like that.

Depending on how much the aspie struggled (I don't enjoy predominantly depressing stories) and if it had a happy ending, I'd read it; I like stories whose characters I can relate to, not to mention there aren't enough stories addressing Asperger's in the world, at least not for older people; all the ones I've found are for little kids.

I'll read a good, well-written book regardless of whether it's fact or fiction

i don't care for fiction....would rather read about a struggling aspie. Many of the aspie books out there, the person seems to have an unusual talent or a boatload of social support (ie significant other or partner). It would be interesting to read about an aspie who is single and struggling in many realms, not just a breezy brush-off approach to the occasional horrors of Asperger Syndrome :?

I tend to really enjoy stories/books and movies with either an aspie or a gifted person as the main character. I *can* watch other things, but I really get so much more involved with either aspie or gifted (or both traits most especially of all.)

i agree with you because many aspies struggle in trying to make friends, build a huge network, and even find relationships. i think temple grande was a good movie though.
