Do you find other people confusing when it comes to understanding how they think?

Theoretically and/or intellectually I can understand it but I always fail when it comes to real life lol. I am continually surprised by peoples responses to things I say and do and I rarely get the responses I expected. This can leave me feeling a little shocked at times because I am sat there scratching my head wondering why in the hell they are over reacting!

Usually I get yelled at a lot which upsets me. People seem to think I am being deliberately difficult when I am not.

It does my head in!

I can "understand" how they think it, but I can't understand why they think it.

They seem to have flawed logic and incomplete lines of thought to me.

I have concluded that one of the reasons they may think the way they do is because they are conditioned by society to do so in some instances.

I am convinced that NT's actively look for things that offend them. It's just silly.

It's all the ulterior strategies that perplex me.

The planet is fine but the NTs need work.

I practically think the same as others in most ways, but at the same time how humans think still annoys me, like when it comes to conformity. I understand that conformity is important to a degree, and that conformity makes the world go round like money and love does, but the way we overdo it is really irksome for me. It's a bit like money, when people overdo it; become greedy, want more, make everything expensive, then they end up in debt and come worse off than before. It's a bit like conformity, it goes too far, now I've noticed people are so afraid to look different, causing social anxieties even for those who are socially confident. The other day my extroverted NT cousin was rushing around in a massive panic (almost having a meltdown!!) because she hadn't shaved her legs for a couple of days and didn't have a razor with her, and kept on yelling, ''oh, will it notice?! Will it notice?! Do they look OK?!'' She actually made me dizzy.

NTs are frightened by their own way of thinking!

I swear people are too sensitive and get offended too easily. Sometimes I can see why it offended them but I just don't understand why they had to get offended. I also think people take things too personally and take things the wrong way.

All my life I was surprised, taken aback, confused by people's reactions. I was unable to predict them in any degree. Nowadays, having discovered a few of the principles of NTs (hierarchy, conformity, etc.) I'm a lot better at predicting how they'll react to something.

Obviously there IS some logic they're following, or they wouldn't all react so similarly. They just include factors in their decisions that we aspies don't even see, know or much less consider, so to us it looks like they're being illogical. Again, things like protecting the group, respecting the informal hierarchy, keeping the status quo and many other silently crucial factors for them.

Oh.....I thought I was the only one who did that, thinking it's due to social phobia and low self-esteem....

One thing I can't understand about the way people think is why on earth there are so many people (probably mostly NTs) actually ENJOY wild, crowded parties with lots of loud music, chattering, and alcohol. I went to one of those this summer, and I was so overwhelmed I just spent most of my time on the sidelines of the party taking photographs of the stuff the host had in his backyard (chickens, palm trees, pools, etc.)

Not every NT likes crowds. Last Christmas it seemed that everyone knew how busy the supermarkets are on Christmas eve, so they all done their grocery shopping a day early, but it seems that everybody had the same idea in order to avoid the crowds, but then realised they had all made the same mistake and so made the day before Christmas eve the most busiest day of the year. I fell for it too, but I also noticed that Christmas eve was nice and quiet in the supermarkets....

I can last a few minutes in crowds but I am very uncomfortable the entire time and I have mastered the art of "phantoming" out of situations after I've made an appearance. I don't understand the allure either. I understand we are social creatures but those environments are awful.

I would agree with you here.

Just don't tell them that they are fat because they eat too much and don't exercise enough. Pandemonium breaks out.

Personally if someone said that to me I would agree with them (I am a bit chunky right now, I like food and I don't exercise as much as I should sometimes).

Although that is not what inspired this post, it is one example of when you should keep your mouth shut or get screamed at.
