I sometimes when I stare at people for a long time it looks like I am really intensly looking at them. So then they start to repeat what I am doing and stare at me back copying my facial experessions. It is really annoying when they do this to me. What are your experiances with this problem?

A friend of mine thinks my facial expressions look dull and boring, and most of the time tries to 'phase me' with an attempted at 'mirroring' my blank stare.

Mostly my mother says I should smile more.

It is actually considered normal to copy someone who is looking at you - reciprocity or something related to "survival"/"fitting in" - makes them more comfortable and theoretically less awkward.

People usually will make fun of my facial expressions by either mimicking them or talking to their friends about it just loud enough I can hear them. I usually make fun of them right back about personal information I heard their girlfriends say (like one football player's ex-girflriend claimed he had a "scrawney c**k," so I called him a "pencil d**k" after he said I had creepy ch***y eyes).

No one really makes fun of my facial expressions, but a friend of my dad's mentioned to me once that I make facial expressions that are nearly identical to my father's, and he found this hilarious. I wasn't even aware of it until he told me.
