What is the link between ADHD and mood swings and how do I manage the mood swings better?

Motivation is at the core of this. Executive functioning is central. Quickly changing your mind about something is a loss in motivation, and I guess this can look like 'getting in and losing the mood'. As far as "mood swings," maybe females experience this with this disorder?

My guess is that mood swings- aka serotonin swings, are a comorbid . The catecholamines are the primary culprits here with this disorder, and I don't believe they are implicated in "mood disorders." I know Norepinephrine takes a substantial hit with major clinical depression ( one variety). And serotonin with 'dysthymia'.

Managing this is most likely best with supplements and/or pharmaceuticals.

Interesting, I never realised there was a link with executive functioning. Are you able to expand more on the above?

Thanks for the advice, currently on an ADHD med and SSRI, though I'm thinking the doses may need changing. Do you know of any non-pharmaceutical approaches which could help?

One: Been on Synaptol for 9 months with good 'clear headed' results. And it took many moons to reach this relaxed mental state. I also use Choline supplements to boost the cholinergic side. It helps with something.

But there are others out there in supplement land.
