Starting A New Weekly Aspie Meeting

Hello again my name is David and I have been given a very genrous offer from the guy who runs the Glendale CA chapter of the salvation army he is willing to donate space to have a 90 minute meeting from 6 to 730 every thrusday. I would love help and support on how to use this time effectly and help getting the word out there that this is going and help on what to do to make the most of the time every thrusday. This is an adult support group for people with aspergers and high fuctioning autisim not for childern. I just think there is enough out there for kids and we need more for adult people.

One of thoughts that I had was kind of running it in support group fashion where everyone shares where they are at this week or if they had problems like for example joe shares about being socialy awarkd at a party and what does he do and other people can respond. But of course this is just in the brain storming phase and I am way open to suggestions and would love help and the support to get this thing off the groud. I a firm believer in aspies helping other apsies.

I am excited and hope you are too I want this to be our meeting and a place where we can come and meet others like us.

My compliments on your endeavors to get something going for adults on the spectrum.

There are nine million freaking people and some them aspies like me here we have a chance to have a meeting once a week for adults on the high end of the spectrum and I get no responses from people wanting to help and get this thing running. I know we need this we need eachother so we do not feel so alone and so we can help one another grow and learn how to live and thrive as aspies and I am calling for your help ideas and involvment to get this thing off the ground and running. I want to help and I want to know my people. If you think there is someone better than me seated in the caprins chair I am fine with that too all I want is to help and be helped.

I am about 1.5 hours' drive on surface streets but I am highly interested in any For Aspie By Aspie meeting, especially if it is a solid for-sure regular meeting. The time and day work out for me as well
